Inspiration

  • ### Bullet Hell
  • ### Super Hot
  • ### Scramble Words

Image 4.png

How to

  • Move: wasd, and Time moves when you move
  • Collect words: the letter in the target word is harmless and collectible. (e.g. "LOVE" is the target word, then you can collide with "L","O","V","E" to collect the "LOVE")
  • Kill Enemy: the left mouse button, hold it
  • Teleport: "SPACE" to teleport to your shadow, super useful in latter game

Fun game, I like the ability to sit and think about my next move for a minute. I did have some trouble figuring out when I would be able to shoot again, I couldn’t find any pattern to it. I thought that your sound was great, both the music and sound effects. The art style was pretty good; some of the text on the main menu was a bit small, but once in-game everything was very readable and looked good. Great contribution to Ludum Dare!

It's a good idea, but I wasn't exactly sure how it fit the theme. If you decide to carry on with the idea, then I would make the cost of death less intimidating.

Took a minute to get the hang of what was going on, after that it was quite fun, I thought the music and the sounds all fit quite well

Love the concept - It frustrated me, but in a good way. Did not understand how to play the first 2 goes, until i actually tried the mouse button.
Highly addictive, great work!

I love the way the game plays, the controls are smooth and the ability to teleport to your previous position is a really cool and useful addition! My biggest gripe would be that I'd prefer that finishing a level was determined by completing the word at the top of the screen, rather than shooting all of the enemies. The benefits from completing the words didn't feel big enough to motivate me to do it, but at the same time that was the most interesting mechanic of the game. I couldn't really see how the game fit the theme, but other than that I thought it was really enjoyable overall. Fantastic job!

This felt like a pretty smart combination of genres and mechanics. Awesome game! One of my favorites so far

super fun and super hard, although it seemed like the special word was very important and yet almost impossible to get?

The game is a lot of fun! I really dig the idea of collecting letters, and the time stop mechanic goes well with the bullet hell type of game. I wish the letters you need had a higher chance to come because at some point I was just waiting and my letters would never come. Nice work!!

Good game, but I didn't know how to "collect" the world, it was fun anyway !

@deadeyejoe02 For example, if you are told to collect "LOVE", then letter "L", "O", "V", "E" are harmless to you you can collide those letters to collect them.

@micdoes @gus-the-shark @scott-purcival i hear you, i think i made this game too hard, sorry about that, next time i will consider more about user experience :dog: instead just make a game from a developer's point of view

@elenesski i hear you, it's until the latter part of the game, the bullet hell type, the theme appears, maybe.

I liked the concept of this a lot, nice job!

I think one life might be too harsh, though. Maybe a three life level system would be nice.

Teleporting back to my shadow is a neat touch.

Overall this was a cool LD entry

Cool idea! It got very difficult in the later levels, maybe a 3-hit system would be better than everything instakilling you. Overall great work though!

@mandarad @jasperarmstrong i think you _two_ guys are **right**, currently the game is very unfriendly to new player, 3-hit system would be much **comfortable**. thank you for feedback :v:

Pretty unique in that, outside of dodging them, I'm usually never looking at what the bullets look like quite this closely when playing a normal shmup. I think this idea has a lot of potential.

Really cool concept and I enjoyed playing it! The mechanics of the game is quite unique and I like the time moving only when you move system, it gives players another way to strategise :)

fun to play! think you missed an opportunity with spelling words mechanic, you could have done a bunch of weird funny words! other than that its a fun game.

This is best entry we played so far! Excellent game mechanics and overall atmosphere. Graphics could be better but we cannot say it is ugly. Very good job. ;-)
