Hope you guys enjoy this simple game! The objective of this game is to corrupt all the land tiles by walking on it. However, you will encounter some enemies that can one-hit kill you! But they are slow and takes time before they can move and attack. To defeat an enemy, all you gotta do is corrupt all the land tiles around an enemy (four directions), so that they can no longer move (hence, they RUN OUT OF SPACE!).
Had a blast with LD42. Not really a fan of the theme but hey, it's the theme! I also used the other themes as well as old LD themes! Can you spot all of them? Spent almost 12 hours thinking of a game and I had only about 4 or 5 hours available each day to code, test, and do the artwork. Was initially planning to send this for the Compo but that will remain as just a dream.

have you finished all 12 levels?
Cool and original concept, and those graphics were good in their own style.
Good job dude!
Edit: Thanks for the info! I'll give it another go now
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.
You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297889760
@yursa wow thanks! glad you liked it!
Have to confess, this lord is indeed rather dark. Not quite as dark as me probably, but way up there. And funny as well!
I also have to confess, I stopped at level 11, as there didn't seem to be much variation at that point. Some fresh gameplay elements would certainly have helped, but then again, given your limited time, this is more that good enough! I guess a few levels less would still have been alright though in this case.
Otherwise, maybe a different background might have been worth a try. The whole game is so eerie, yet there's this happy bright background.
I'm getting a little picky though. Congrats on the game. Very well done!
@michael-oliveira @wetbox @anna-petrova many thanks! never thought that a lot of people would like my game. although, yeah, it is quite difficult.
@ryanjavanshir thanks! yeah i ran out of time to tweak the difficulty. if i ever have time (time? what time?) then I will certainly make a mobile version with more mechanics!
@very-dark-lord wow, coming from the very dark lord himself! there's actually 12 levels in all hahaha, too bad you were not able to complete all. but yeah you're right i ran out of time to add more mechanics. was planning to add at least a 2nd enemy type. i spent too much time on tweaking the gameplay (there were lots of bugs) and i played all the levels to make sure that it can be finished. was actually planning to just make 5 or 6 levels but was worried that people would complain.
yeah i agree with the background. did not have the time to make a decent one as well as a title screen. but i'm really glad you liked the game.
@tlcoc thanks for playing. thanks for the suggestion! yeah i'm thinking about that. :)
@amkingtrp glad you liked it. yeah i was planning to add more mechanics / obstacles but ran out of time :). I'm trying to make a mobile version and will do add more mechanics! thanks!
@jiri-hysek wow hope you finish it! really glad that you liked it. thanks for playing and leaving your feedback!
@paulhocker wow! really glad that this game is one of your favorites! i'm planning to make a mobile version of this game so please watch out for that! thanks!
@capitals thanks for playing! yeah a lot of players seem to have a difficulty about the movement / attack of the knights. i'm trying to improve the game by listening to suggestions and add more tutorials.
@crazyd @brain-warm-up @coffeecup-winner @him thanks! really happy that you liked it!
@flashviper thanks for playing! yeah, it seems unintuitive for some. trying to tweak it and improve the tutorial levels. :D
@frozenfire92 many, many thanks for playing! really glad that you liked it!
@kisamegr thanks! glad you liked it! yeah that could happen. unfortunately, they won't die and it's an automatic gameover (planning to add a restart button).
Sometimes AI is really intelligent, waits for you to come before moving :O
Nice entry, great work guys !!
Can you check out my game as well?
Thanks.
It might be good to visually display what a knight's turn speed is. At any point you only see its current turn counter and you have to remember what it resets to. Perhaps show the different knight speeds with different graphics? E.g. a slow knight with turn speed 4 wearing heavy armour, a fast knight with turn speed 1 wearing light armour. While you're at it I'm sure there are other variations that could be introduced, e.g. knights that only attack horizontally, knights that attack diagonally, knights that move like the knights in chess, etc.
After all the knights in a level are dead, it is kind of satisfying to fill out all the uncorrupted tiles, but at the same time, it is just busy work. Perhaps make the dark lord automatically and quickly do this when all the knights are dead? There is no challenge after all. Would be more interesting if there are special tile types, e.g. ones that can only be walked on a number of times before they collapse.
Anyway, good stuff :)
