Unicorn Rescue by devharts
Goal: Rescue the unicorn eggs by "sacrificing" rare treasures to the slime monsters!

How to play:
- Use the arrow keys to move around
- Press the enter or space key to pick up treasures or interact with monsters
Development notes:
This was built using Godot Engine, which I decided to start looking at less than a week before Ludum Dare #43 started. I enjoyed working with it a lot, and was surprised at how much I was able to accomplish with the engine even while being completely new to it. All graphics were made over the course of the weekend using Inkscape for the vector drawings, and Blender to model the unicorns and then render them as tiny 2D sprites.
Other background:
Since I was planning to use an engine I was unfamiliar with, I entered this jam with the plan of making something simple that my daughters (ages 4 and 7) would be able to play and enjoy -- they've been slightly obsessed with unicorns (which they say hatch from eggs), and also slime, so that became the subject matter for my submission. Hopefully it can provide a few minutes of entertainment for adults as well :)

The only nitpick I need to do is the controls, who are a bit uncomfortable, since you have to change hands to use Arrows + Mouse and Arrows + Space
The game is most certainly good.
I do have some minor remarks that might improve the game.
- The starting position slightly suggests i should first go into the mountain. (since we are trained to move from left to right (kids might not be)). It might have been nice to start in the castle. This would be so i could directly pick up some items and so i know where i came from and that i might need to bring items.
- personally i would have let the player bring the egg back.
Also glad to see other people using Godot, nicely done for someone unfamiliar with this engine.
