Theme: Running out of space

Defeat the challenges of the treasure room !

You are a knight who stumbled upon a room filled with treasure. This room seems quite peaceful at first sight but don't be too confident : everything in it wants you dead. Even the chests wants you dead. They will jump at you, dropping coins in the process. Great isn't it ? Well. No. Not at all. Coins will slow you down and make the fight way more tedious. The more ennemies you face, the less space you get. Be careful not to run out of space...

Your goal is simple : survive so you can get away with all the loot. Fortunately, the room is filled with items that will help you. Potions will restore your health but your best friends are the bombs. They will allow you to destroy the piles of gold so you can move more freely.

But your presence has awaken a more powerful presence... Beware of the skeleton knight and his powerful army Will you survive the treasure room ? Controls :

  • WASD to move
  • Left click to attack
  • Right click to drop a bomb!

This was a cool game with the theme right at core of the game mechanics. The gameplay is simple, yet frantic and challenging.

The bomb is a very useful pickup for regaining some space, and I'm sorry we didn't think of something like that for our own game.

I love to hate the mimics, and can't find anything negative about the game. It is perfect in its simplicity =)

This is the definition of a great ludum dare game. A simple idea, polished to perfection. Very nice game, actually beat it on my first play, which started off as me refusing to kill the chests for their gold! Just thought of it now... do you have a counter in there to register how many gold coins are left after winning? Might add a competitive element to see who can win while letting as much gold spawn. Nice submission!

Good game. Liked it. Nice variety of enemies, and good choice of collectibles.
Though couldn't beat the boss in a few tries, (thanks to bugged controls, details below).

There are problems with some sort of input event handling, probably, as the movement keys just get stuck due to rapid mouseclicks (not so sure about that) often, which really breaks UX. Otherwise the game is pretty fine.

Fun game, great use of the theme. A good improvement could be adding some animation or visible effect to let the player know how much the gold is screwing with him.

Love the concept! Was quite exciting when my movement visibly slowed in high-coin areas. One small tweak: could we have an option to have the sword swing in the direction the character is facing? I know that control scheme does have some restrictions, but I'd personally find it more comfortable. Good work!

Very cool entry. Nice take on the theme. I enjoyed running around bashing enemies and rushing to the next check hoping for a health potion.

I had an issue where my controls seemed to get stuck though, but other than that I had a lot of fun!

All this money laying around, that you couldn't collect drove me crazy XD. But nice combat systhem, and well ballanced, chalenging, but not to difficult.

Like @johannimations, not being able to pick up the money was annoying but seeing how it is part of the theme it makes sense. I felt a bit of camera shake on weapon hit could add to what already already felt pretty good.

if theres one thing i like more than wrecking on mimics and skulls, its being completely surrounded by treasure. this is a game after my own heart. lots of fun! i wish i could attack the bones being thrown at me to keep myself alive and make me feel that much more unstoppably greedy! nice submission

It may be just me, but I felt like the bone projectile's hit box is a little bit too big. Otherwise the game is pretty good, smooth gameplay, simple controls, good audio and graphics. RIP all the gold coins on the ground :c

Awesome. Felt very smooth, easy to pick up, and nice difficulty ramp. Took me a while to figure out there were pickups towards the edge, though I'm not sure the bombs were all that necessary anyway. A few times I thought the hitboxes on the thrown bones might be a little off as well, I got hit a few times when I thought I had dodged successfully. Those are minor gripes though, it was a lot of fun to hack and slash through all the baddies, and the piling up of coins on the floor was a really cool mechanic to slowly make the battlefield into more of a tactical thing. Really nice execution!

Good concept, the controls were also great. I was missing the information on screen that I possessed a bomb or not, and a kind of highscore mechanic would have been great

The gameplay is fun with a good enemy variety. A little more juice in the attacks would be good tho. Also randomizing the pitch of the SFXs would add a nice variation.

Simple and nice game. The concept of making drop as speed reducing factor is nice one. It has a good variety of enemies too. Sometimes the hitboxes of bones goes weird and you got hit even you dodged. And good music

Oh haha nice entry :D I wish the controls were more responsive with the slashing but otherwise I had no problems in the game. Fun concept with nice music and sound effects together with a fresh unique idea fitting the theme. After some polishing up and adding additional features I could see this to be a quite nice full fledged game! Nice job PatteDeCanaard.

I really like the concept. The audio was great. There seemed to be a bug with the movement because sometimes my character would keep running in one direction and nothing worked to fix it. and at one point my s key didnt work to go down (its possible its my keyboard if no one else was having this issue). I think i would like a collection mechanic for the gold, cuz I enjoy picking up things and feeling powerful. mwahahaha! thank you for your game!

Nice game! Biggest complaint is the music is wickedly too loud, and the keys would often get locked into going one direction. :( Other than that cool graphics, sound, mechanics, blowing up the gold was a nice touch, definitely relied on that towards the end; the chests and bombs were cool in general. great work.

Really interesting. I seem to have had an easier time getting into the mindset that the gold is a hazard than most of the people here. The different enemy types really complemented each other. The boss was cool, but it really could have used a healthbar. Good work!
