The Apocalypsis Saver Cure

The Apocalypsis is happening. You must save as many parishioners as you can. Build banks so they can sit and pray, and buy relics so their prayers are effectively carried to God. You can help them pray by clicking on them parishioners.

As time goes by, relics will become evil, thus reducing the space you have and not affecting your parishioners prayers.

Additional notes

  • Sorry for the lack of a Linux version. I am stuck in a Windows PC right now, and I don't have this prepared for cross compiling. You should be able to play it with wine though.

  • Upgrades and area of effect for relics were discarded because I was a little lazy in this jam and didn't spend as much time as I had in the weekend.

  • After reading the comments and my own experience, the game parameters ended up making the game very easy and once you get the feel of it, you end up saving a lot of people. After testing parameters I ended up preferring to make it very easy rather than very hard. I might add a harder version in the future.

  • Thanks to Avalanch - Torquemada for the starting notes of the theme.

A nice challenge,I had a hard time but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. I also love the graphics.

Loved the theme, never thought I'd play a game about prayers. It gets pretty challenging after a while, which is really nice. Good job!

Nice idea but after multiple attempts I couldn't understand how to save a signle person before running out of money and the parishers getting too numerous. I liked the music and the simple artstyle works well in my opinion. It was a bit unclear as to what was doing each prayer and how to use them. Overall, interesting idea but sadly I couldn't experiment it as much as I would have liked, nice job though!

I loved the idea and the religious concept. Solid implementation without any bugs. I also liked the graphics reminds me one of those games that windows 95 came preinstalled with where you had to push some blocks. With some improvements I can see this becoming a very addictive game.

I believe the game would benefit a lot from some balancing, cause at its current form if you build as many prayers as you can at the beginning and then 1 or 2 of the heavy prayers, then every parishioner leaves immediately and there is not much after that. It would also be a good idea to have an area of effect of the prayers so that you also have to think where to place them and maybe some kind of different upgrades.

@mrsylar59 all the prayers do the same, which is increase the bar on the top of the parishioners. You should start by buying The Virgen of the Rocio, which is the leftmost icon before the banks. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.

@exofrenon yes! area of effect and upgrades were discarded for time reasons, because I would have wanted to show the area of each relic and thus, having to implement some selection system which would have risky in time terms because I didn't spend much time. Thanks for your comment.

I agreed with @exofrenon, I'm currently 800+ saved and still going. Initially it was hard to figure out, maybe a visual demonstration that showed the mechanic would be more effective. Interesting take on the idle clicker genre though, good work.

Great idea but as others have said it just needs time spent on balancing. I started by building lots of seats, which makes the game almost impossible to win. When I realised I could just buy lots of prayers it made the game trivial. Really nice art and music though. Hope you revisit this, as could be really good with some tweaking.

Love the game. Agree with the others though. The game was either too hard or too easy with no real in between. Honestly had fun playing this game though and can see this going places if there was more time put into it in the future. Great job.

Neat game but not well balanced yet. I just build 1 bench, and 25 gold statues and that setup will instant save the dudes and god's favor will pour in letting you buy the more expensive statues. Just keep building statues and you'll never need more than 1 bench and nothing seems to happen cause the apoc level stays in check -- it decreases for each dude saved but increases for each evil statue. I think you need to make it so more and more parishioners come in over time so I'm forced to build more than one bench or something.

I understand wanting to make the game on the easier side to keep it accessible to most people, but right now I can easily build enough prayers so that parishioners literally only show up for one frame before they're done. The music works well at conveying a sense of urgency and desperation as you try to save as many people as you can before the end comes. Theme-wise, I can see where you're going with this game, but as it is, there's enough room that it's actually a challenge to fill up the space.
