Super Crush by Amatwiedle

[raw]
made by Amatwiedle for LD 42 (JAM)

This is my fourth Ludum Dare, and this is the first time I've done it solo. Super Crush is my entry this time, and I'm super happy with what I produced this time around, accomplishing everything within my initial scope and then some. I'm well aware that the art is rather lacking, but that's the best you can do when you're a programmer by trade . The point of the game is to move the crates found on each level into a horizontal line. But beware, every move you make, you are running out of space. Two crushers will get closer and closer until you eventually run out of moves and are flattened between them. Solving the puzzle will prevent them from closing in on you, and allowing you to advance to the next level.

Controls: - WASD or Arrow Keys: Movement - Z: Reset the puzzle if you make a mistake. - Spacebar: Retry/Continue a level.

The idea of this game is good, the theme is respected, I think nevertheless that the first levels are too difficult. Can be a tutorial level would have been good. I also think that a level tutorial would have been cool. Finally, we have to restart the game to review the rules again and we cannot leave the game normally.

There seems to be something wrong with the Web-build. Sometimes I would just pass through the boxes and outside the level. Didn't figure out when and why it was happening but since it happened once I was usually not able to do anything about it.

This didn't seem to happen in the windows-build. It was fun and good challenge after I donwloaded that, but I would have appreciated a coundown number or some kind of a meter/bar to see how many moves I had left. The inevitable crushing felt a bit sudden  .
