Munchy Cell by McFish

[raw]
made by McFish for LD 40 (COMPO)

You're in control of hungry cell looking for food, but eating others is not all fun and games :)

You can control the blue blob with either cursor keys, or with virtual keys, if using tablet. Eat green cells and avoid red cell. The more you eat, the harder it gets to move around.

As with my previous ld32 entry, I ran out of time while making this, so the game itself is kinda meh, but at least it was fun to make

I like the idea, but it feels like the game is lacking a goal/challenge. Which is understandable if you lacked time. This was fun to try nonetheless. Hope you had fun and learned a lot! :)

Yep, no winning or losing conditions :( But lots of bugs instead to make up the missing game logic :)

I like the art style. It could have been better if you would spawn new "cells" (?) from time to time.

Nice music and the controls are good. The graphics are nice, but a background would have been good.
I got stuck to an invisible wall twice. I can rotate but I can't move forward.

Neat. Cool music track. Reminds me a bit of agar.io

Real asteroids can go in diagonals ;)

The control scheme is a little frustrating since you can't move diagonally. I liked the idea but I just got lost in space after while and gave up.

Very nice music and a very calming experience. I would have liked it more if, as you got bigger, the camera zoomed out a bit. I would have also preferred full 360 degree movement.

Great music! It creates a drifty, explorey atmosphere.

No very much to do, but it was a quite and relaxing experience. I gave up when I didn't see anything (red nor green) for a minute of pointless wandering. I'm sure with more time you could make it more challenging, but it's good enough for a compo, the game is working and good looking (and the music adds to the relaxing effect), so, well done. :)

Very well composed music. Nicely done. But without win/lose conditions I don't see it fit the theme too well. Maybe the borders whould be colored slightly different, so you don't get stuck at the edge thinking you are moving. Other than that, nice entry!

good music, kinda followed concept (agar.io) and i found a bug that when you get to the border, you can't move anymore.
