Directional shooting seemed the most intuitive, though I agree that it's cumbersome regardless. In hindsight, aiming with a mouse may have been better.
Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
The theme is not obvious as it's hidden in the story.
Basically, the village is running out of space so you need to venture forth and find a new home with more space.
I always try and leave useful feedback, which is harder with this entry because it's very solid. I think the either the gameplay or puzzles (Or both) could have used a few more bits to give the player additional chances for mastery. After I killed the first rabbit and figured out the branches/leaves were destroyable I had basically mastered those gameplay elements.
Anyway, a great LD entry to be proud of for sure!
Anyway, the game itself was really fun!! I would totally want to keep playing if it had more levels and additional challenges. The wolves at the end were pretty scary :)
Yeah @jorbits I didn't even think of using the mouse when making the game. Good idea. And the game length was really just limited by how much I could get done in two days.
Thanks for the feedback @shakedimus it seems like you're a victim of the non-optimized nature of the game as well. I added the Windows build after, hoping it would run better, but I guess not. Sorry but thanks for the feedback!
Nice game! I love the visual style, concept and sound FX.
Maybe you could make some optimisation to make it less power consuming, but generally those are not things you have time to do during a jam.
:leaves:
I would have done some more optimization if I knew it was a problem during the jam - but alas, my computer is too beefy haha
also nice idea to include the theme in the narrative. Although I'd argue that the genre is more exploration than adventure. Anyway good job.
Things that need a little help: character animation was too minimal I think, The movement was too slow that my fingers actually hurt from the strain of pressing the keyboard buttons so this needs to be fixed :)
Congratulations!
Good job!
