Stretch by Ramperkash

made by Ramperkash for LD34 (JAM)
You are a cube of slime capable of extending yourself along a single axis and inching your way across challenging terrains. Collect the goo blobs and make your way to the portal to beat each level.

Use the left and right arrow keys to simultaneously move and expand your body. Your body will try to revert to its original cube shape, but you can hold both left and right to go rigid to prevent this.

This game is something that has a lot of potential. The number one difficulty of the game is the controls because it can get very confusing learning how the slime behaves in each state that it can be in. That being said, I did slowly begin to learn how it changes, moves, and controls, but it was frustrating at first. Once learning though, the game actually became pretty fun. I still couldn't beat the whole thing, but I really do feel the mechanic has potential if the controls could be ironed out in a way that is a bit more user-friendly. Really nice entry :)

the controls are somewhat difficult and the instructions a bit unclear, perhaps show the keypresses together with the resulting behaviour.

Very satisfying to cross large gaps and doing flips, a think this has a lot of potential!

The mechanic is really interesting! But maybe the controls need a little more work, I found them frustrating. I didn't manage to finish the game.
Anyway, the game is great :-)
Congratulations!

Cool concept. Some errors on the dev console when grabbing the pickups.

Very nice concept! It was imho a bit too complicated to do what I want with the cube ;-)
But it was fun, well done!

Don't think I've seen a mechanic like this before. Well executed and good puzzle design has been built around it. Great game!
