Help Mister Maître with his waiter contest!

The game is self explanatory, so no more description needed here, except for extra bonus points when you bring more that 10 glasses, so you can improve your score risking with more glasses at once.

Software used: - GameMaker (HTML5 target). - Krita - Gimp - Audacity - Beepbox.co - Bfxr

All is made from scratch, except for Fonts (used Deneane and Opine Heavy).

Finnished in about 20 hours, in spare time. No time for entering Compo, but at least is a playable game :P

74 glasses is my current record, and I assume is pretty hard to get to this level :D

Nice gameplay, a bit simplistic, but it works :)

Thanks for your comments. BTW, my current record is 74 glasses :)

The secret is using plate tilting to compensate movement, and make 3 or more delivers, trying to put 11 glasses or so in every delivery. But I don't know, may be others find a better way to improve score :D

Fun idea! The graphics are really nice, and the physics also feel right. It's a bit strange at first to be using 3 hands, but i din't ever need to tilt the tablet, so it worked out. I felt like i was most efficient by only taking 4 glasses ever, because i usually messed up when taking more :D
Maybe there could also be a bonus below 10 glasses, such that there is always an incentive to carry more and that carrying more is always better than carrying little more often?
Good work :)

PS: i had no audio, is this normal? Just asking because the category is still up for voting.

Thanks for your review @rongo-matane!

Indeed, it has sound and music. I'm using Chrome, and works well. May be depends on your browser, I don't know if GameMaker has some issue on specific configurations.

About controls, I tried to use Mouse movement to tilt the plate instead of using more keys, but GM has a bug related to mouse tracking on HTML5, so I was forced to discard that decission :(

Nice entry! My favourite part was the waiter's backwards speedy walk.

I say to @fernandxor "Chapeau bas, Monsieur".
This game is really original, refreshing and humorous.
A good little hobby that allows to break many glasses without feeling the slightest shame for his own awkwardness.
Thank you for that ;-)

Cool idea! Nice game overall. The only problem is that I can't stack the glasses properly as they always roll forward, and this made me a little frustrated. But the game was cool!
Great job!

I played on laptop with limited screen size, cat on my lap and I'm going to blame it on the cat that I only got 7 glasses across. While I really liked the sound of the crashing I kind of would have expected something like a raised eyebrow or other polite discontent from the judges. Swapping between touchpad for placing the glasses and the dual keyboarding was a bit annoying but on the other hand the physics and placing the glasses on the trey was half the fun. Letting them fall to the ground was also fun.

First time I made it across with any glass I thought I might need to manually place them on the table. But I was simply a little too eager. So the sign confused me and might be better if it only showed after leaving off some glasses encouraging to run back (or moonwalk). To get more.

@fylipp and @bismark, @elemental-zeal-game-studios, @amigopadilha, @local-minimum, thanks to all for your feedback!

@amigopadilha are you tilting the plate with cursor keys? Also try not to hold movement, and give quick presses instead to gain some velocity. Thanks for playing!

@local-minimum, I thought about that, with more reactions even for the main character, but I was running out of time so I had to leave it out the game. I take note for the last advice. Thanks a lot for your extended review!

I tried a lot to take looots of glasses at the same time, but it was too risky. my best was 4 glasses at once. It's a really nice concept. I love games based on physics.
I love how the guy is just walking backwards to gets the other glasses ! it's funny !

I thought this was a great jam entry; a clear idea of the game it was aiming to be, well executed. I had a lot of fun with this and I think it is a really fun take on the theme. It really nails the risk vs. reward gameplay. I was always trying to see how many glasses I could fit and being too greedy.

The graphics were solid, I especially liked the different nervous looks on the waiter's face as you added more and more glasses. The sound was good, the music fit and the glasses had a good smash sound effect, which was the main thing that mattered.

I guess I didn't really care much about my overall score though, so maybe some kind of leader board would encourage score chasing a bit more.

I would be nice if it didn't show the tutorial graphics every time you restarted but they aren't there for long so it's only a minor nuisance.

I feel like this deserved much better results than it received.
