Second-Claw Shop by Unpoe

[raw]
made by Unpoe for LD 42 (JAM)

You used to be useless trash in the 7th circle of Hell, but you finally got a job in a pawn shop downtown, run by some nice archdemon dude. You better keep it as long as you can, 'cuz all those waifu posters aren't gonna buy themselves, scrub! Keep clients happy by collecting their old stuff and selling whatever they need from the back store. Try to keep up, because lots of useless trash is coming in, and you don't want to be overrun. Mess up too often and you are out.

Boy, working in retail sure is hellish!

I really liked this game. Might be my favorite one I have played so far. The low resolution look, plus the music in the back really sold me on it all. At first I didn't quite understand why I couldn't pick up items from certain people, then I realized its because its what they want. Might want to consider making that a little more apparent in the future. For LD40 I made a very similar game, but your execution is far better.

Interesting idea. At start I was just throwing around objects and I would go searching for them when needed. But when big objects arrive you should organize things, because it becomes way harder to find the items in all this mess !
They were some bugs (objects that disappear in walls, object that fall just near a client) and some more feedback would have been good I think (I was stuck in front of this red button in the room during the first minute  )
Good job !

Very charming game, it takes a while to understand what you need to actually do, like what the buttons do and how some customers actually want your stuff instead of the other way round.

While the gameplay is a bit confusing and unrefined at first, I eventually understood everything and the idea behind it. I love the graphical style and the idea of working 9 to 5 in hell and the world / setting is well done.
I eventually reached a point where no more customers spawned and a mouse sensitivity options could do wonders, but I still had a lot of fun and think this is a solid entry.

PS: I don't appreciate what you put in the trash bin at all.

Sorry, but I'm rating a 1 in Audio due to the inappropriate music.

This is a really fun idea! Like some others it took me a second to figure out exactly what the objects on the side meant, but if you look at the in-game instructions, it makes sense. After that it was just a matter of playing around and finding the exit. I couldn't see what the object was in the final moment, so maybe just make that longer. Thanks for playing Dungeon Time, congrats on finishing, and good luck! :D

I enjoyed the weeb humor, music, art, and gameplay in general! I don't have many complaints - mainly the same as people above where I was unsure why I couldn't grab stuff from those who wanted stuff (maybe showing the pause screen in the intro would help). There were also a few bugs: sometimes I couldn't start a new game if I failed and I would see the "break your leg" text box for a bit before the game ended when I lost. Great job overall!

Well, I loved the title screen music. I listened to that for a few minutes just watching the boxes filling up the room. I loved the jazz song in the pawn store too. I wasn't really sure what I was doing at first but it was still fun taking items and throwing them in the back, then I got it once people came in wanting stuff. Overall a fun little game with nice humour and an awesome title screen song!

Cool concept. Didn't run too well on my system so I didn't give it multiple playthroughs, unfortunately. Oh well! The people look cool and all. I struggled to figure out what to do at the start, and never did figure out the red button on the pink floor in the back room.
