Hello there and welcome to Virus Eater Peter - a game set in the glorious world of....well we are not sure where it is. But its not pleasant and rather full of bodily fluids.

Controls:

The controls for this game are very simple.

Use WASD to move around and at some point you may find that left clicking will do something!

The game is a simple arena game where you must battle the evil virus' and bacteria of the host to survive. Truth be told, you probably wont survive (read: won't :joy:). Which is a shame because you are a new, mutated white blood cell with the power to absorb fragments of the virus to be even more effective in battling it along side your white blood cell brothers.

Do try not to bump into the other white blood cells too much by the way. They might take exception to it.

So that is your task. Kill the virus' and collect the RNA fragments they drop to help you survive as long as you possibly can. Remember, if things get crazy......you can always just give up.

For those of you who want to know exactly how the game.... ramps up, or what the left mouse button can do

We have prepared a small document of spoilers. We do hasten to add however that it is our belief its better to find out these things through play : -

PLEASE NOTE: We have provided a Web and Downloadable version on the Itch.io links below. Unfortunately a known bug in WebGL browsers means that our custom cursors will not work in the web version. This does not affect the game much, you will just not see an aim cursor, and it will not turn orange when shooting becomes available. Sorry for this.

BUG FIX: There was an issue with the connection to our leaderboard in the API, this was corrected

Pretty cool game! I was kinda confused on what was going on, for awhile, then it seemed like the game was too easy, then I don't know what lol

The music tones were a bit...overwhelming, the fuzziness made me nauseous somehow. If that's by design, then kudos to y'all!

The core concept of the game was unique. I liked the addition of getting modifiers from the DNA. I thought that the game could do with a bit more game feel (screen shake, knockback when enemies are hit, impact sounds) which would give the game a bit more punch.

Nice game! I'd just tweak a little bit the acceleration of enemies and allies, they tend a lot to "orbit" around.

Interesting concept with a mechanics that fit well with the theme. I liked the rhythm of the game and the ease of understanding what was happening. Perhaps with a little more feedback the feeling would be even better. Good game.

Conceito interessante com uma mecânica que se encaixou bem com o tema. Gostei do ritmo do jogo e da facilidade em compreender o que estava acontecendo. Talvez com um pouco mais de feedbacks o feeling seria ainda melhor. Bom jogo. :flag_br:

Kind of an asteroid game, where you gain some power over time. It ramps up nicely. Audio and graphics are good. Nice work.

I love the concept of a scavenging game (you don't kill yourself but loot what is left from previous fights).
The control is a bit tough for me. But, I have managed to go the point I can shoot. I wonder what you have prepared for us, if we keep taking RNA...

The introductory text was fun !

Super cool concept. I like that I am on the same team as these white bloodcells and you managed to get a lot of stuff into the game. On the other hand I feel like the art, audio and feel of the game didn't quite come together. The controls could have been a bit more tight and I really wanna know what left click is for.

Concept was great, controls felt a bit too hard to handle. But all things considered, its an awesome game.

For those of you who want to know more about the game but don't necessarily have the time to play more, or just like spoilers - there is now a link up above that answers such questions as how exactly the game ramps up further and what the Left Mouse Button can maybe do~

Ack! It's so hard to turn! I found it difficult to collect the RNA before it disappeared. Cool idea, though.

Good job on the game. The mechanics fit well with the theme and I liked the variety of upgrades you could get. The movement felt a bit too slide-y and resulted in it being difficult to pick up the RNA in time. Overall i enjoyed the game, nice job.

Very interesting concept! The idea with the RNA creates a curious and dynamic gameplay. The menu and interface look neat, the sprites and effects are soft and beautiful. It's great that there is a rating of players. Inertia during the movement greatly increases the difficulty, and this is good. The music is pleasant and, in my opinion, fits the strange world of the game.

A few remarks. I think that when firing at a virus, you need to get into it too many times to kill. Also I didn't understand what exactly gives skill "attack". It seemed to me that after I received this, I killed the virus when I collided with it, but not always. And I think that colliding with White Blood Cell reduce too many hp after dialing 10 RNA. And finally sometimes I stuck to the walls of the level and could not budge. I did not understand why it happened.

Surprisingly, as @juri noticed, I really came up with an idea for the game, very similar to yours. But my game is not so polished  Anyway well done! And good luck to your team!

Nice. It's a bit frustrating to control the cell and I found the music annoying. However the game mechanics are pretty fun :)

Pretty neat idea and sort-of-inversion of the twin stick shooter. I would have almost have preferred if the game stayed about baiting the virus, rather than you later getting the ability to shoot.
