I really enjoyed this game your sound effects and music sound good and don't overpower each other which is really nice. I wish the commets where a bit slower it sometimes felt like they would come out of nowhere and slam into me. Also I know its space and intertia exist but I feel like pressing the move left\/right buttons always sent me flying way faster than I wanted which is fine most of the time but when a alien ship is down at the bottom of the screen near the edge I would always end up slamming into it on accident.","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Sigton","author_uid":"1124582","time":"2018-12-03T22:10:23Z","epoch":1543875023,"modified":1543875023,"text":"@theseusinabottle I'm glad you enjoyed it :)","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"MRUniverse","author_uid":"1051923","time":"2018-12-03T22:11:36Z","epoch":1543875096,"modified":1543875096,"text":"I really liked this! My score: 6193. I really like the look and feel and atmosphere.\n\nI apparently misunderstood how fuel worked, thought I only used it to change velocity (and, some constant drain), so I thought I was sacrificing whether or not to expend fuel to slow down or just get hit by an asteroid... but apparently my \"constant drain\" was because I left velocity on! I think I would have gotten farther knowing that.","likes":0,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld43\/124583-a2212086cc0fd6d9a045b440f0f86058.png"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/Sigton\/ludumdare43","text":"Source code"},{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/Sigton\/apollo\/releases\/tag\/v1.0.2","text":"Windows"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"47499","g_author":"1124582","g_event":"LD43","g_eventkey":"71","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"230272","g_title":"Apollo","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"194","g_commentcount":"17","g_site2_node_id":"124583","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"124583","n_urlkey":"230272","n_parent":"120415","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/43\/apollo","n_slug":"apollo","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"compo","n_author":"124582","n_created":"1543335538","n_modified":"1543787266","n_version":"382298","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":124583,"parent":120415,"superparent":9,"author":124582,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"compo","published":"2018-12-02T21:47:46Z","created":"2018-11-27T16:18:58Z","modified":"2018-12-02T21:47:46Z","version":382298,"slug":"apollo","name":"Apollo","body":"### About Apollo\n\nApollo is an retro-style arcade game, inspired by the challenges of space travel. Resources are precious and limited; so using them up is quite the sacrifice!\n\nThis is my first ever game jam entry, so I'm very pleased with my result! I'll definitely be coming back to compete in the next jam!\n\nTo run the game, download the executable from GitHub and extract from the ZIP archive. Run the file 'Apollo.exe' and all should hopefully work \n\n### Gameplay\n\nIn Apollo you pilot a rocket ship through a field of debris, meteors and alien ships. You need to dodge these obstacles, however moving the rocket sacrifices your limited fuel supply! The goal is to last as long as possible.\n\nMeteors can crash into your ship, while alien ships will shoot lasers at you. Once you have taken damage, you will start to leak oxygen.\n\nThe ship is in space, so there it has inertia of course. There's no friction to slow it down automatically!\n\nThe game is over when the ship explodes, you suffocate to death or run out of fuel.
