Space Farmer by TalesOfPixelia

"Alright cap'tain! Your mission is crucial and will play a decisive role in our future. You might either be our saviour or lead all of us to our doom... We are already lacking time so listen carefully. Your cargo contains seeds you will have to plant and harvest in order to get enough food to provide for our people at the end of your journey. Watch your men so they don't eat all of your crops and be careful... You can choose your friends but not the other planets of your solar system! We don't know what you should be expecting for once you will have landed. So be quick and don't forget to keep a close look at your resources!"

Space farmer is a little farming game developed by a group of coworkers who decided to challenge themselves with the LudumDare experience, first Jam for some of us but definitely not the last one!
How to play:
You're on a voyage with your passengers and some vegetables. The passengers eat the food from your cargo and multiply over time. Each takes some space and the passengers will throw out the cargo if they can't fit anymore in the ship. Once they run out of food, it's time to draw the straws and see who's going to be eaten next.
To get some more food stop at the planets, plant some seeds and harvest the crops. Each crop will consume water available on the planet. Until there's none left and the plants immediately dry.
- Land on the planet screen by clicking it in the space screen
- On the planet : left click on the seeds to select the crop, then left click on the available slots to plant them. Right click to stop planting. Left click on the grown up plants to harvest them.
- Once you're ready to depart click on launch and select the next planet, the travel takes some time so food will be eaten and there'll be more passengers once you arrive (or less if they've started starving).
The different seeds give different amount of food and consume different amount of water. Green seeds give the least food and use the least water while the red seeds give the most and need a lot of water.
The crops give the most food when harvested fully grown, but if you wait too long they die and give nothing.
Each travel will result in losing some space in the ship as it gets hit by debris.

I kind of understood what I needed to do? To be honest I just planted at random and got the food, and as soon as there was no more water I was off to the next planet. There is some potential here, but I felt like I did not need to spend very much time on a planet before going to the next so I never really slowed down to take in anything else. I did win at least.
The theme is well represented and the idea is quite unique. There are quite a few things that needs improvement: like a more clear tutorial, the music was a bit glaring, the UI was a bit scattered and unclear and the list of planets was very low-res. Also not a fan of having the "logo" of the game right smack in the middle of the play-screen... Feels a bit out of place?
Still! It's a full game, so a great effort!

Perhaps you can upload an exe version of your game and/or readjust the canvases? Thanks! :D
The audio and graphics are cool though, I think that if you tweak the mechanics a little the game could be very enjoyable.
Stressfully fun, the moment you stop clicking you're dead, but I liked the mood overall, the audio really fits! Nice little game
