Alice Unlimited by ARuculaDoMal

Welcome to Alice Unlimited. This is a Third Person Shooter controlled by cards, In real Time, no turns... (kinda)

Soon you will control Alice, trying to survive waves of crazy scientists, the more you survive and kill, the more you score.

Base concepts: * Each card has an action and a direction, using the card will perform the action facing that direction, for example: Shoot Right. * You recieve 5 random cards, each time you use one of them it gets replaced for a new one. * There's a timer that counts the "freeze time" a slow motion moment for you to choose a card * Don't die.

Key Features: * Shooting, Walking, Punching and Throwing Grenades. * Enemies that hunt you and punch you (insta kill). * Increasing enemie waves. * Ragdolls

Timing is the key.... Have a good game, hope you like it!

The Game was made using Unity Engine. All the audios are Royalties Free audio samples, so we opted out from audio since we didn't make them.

  • Please download the executable version for better performance and graphics.

  • Tip: the enemy don't need to be exactly at the direction you are shooting/punching to be hit, for balancing reasons he just need to be in that direction relative to you (example: if he is at your left and you shoot left you will hit, even if he isn't directly in front of the gun)

  • Don't forget to post your highscore in the comments!!

Neat game idea. I think it would've been improved if the player was always given a card for each direction, it's very easy to get in an unwinnable scenario.

Nice idea, but if it shows what button need to press on each card it would be easier to understand what to press.

Cool idea.

It is pretty hard though. I rarely magaed to kill more than two people. An easy mode for the beginning might help get into the game. Or maybe try and assign each direction a color and color the cards correspondingly. I mostly died because I had problems figuring out where my back/front/left/right was.

Looks good and music fits the action focus, so great mix.

Overall a solid entry.

Really good graphics but really hard game. I felt my mouse was inverted in the X axis compared to what I expected. Also I got super stressed about the people rushing me and often picked the wrong card. Super good implementation of the theme!

Loved the feel ! And it fits the theme perfectly !
But as the others comment, I had some problems regarding the difficulty of the game, and most of all, the inverted mouse.

Great game.I had to download the windows client because the web one was too slow for my computer. Maybe you could add some settings.

The game is challenging and it took me a while to understand how to move based on the mouse.

Good job!

Very cool concept! I think it should be way easier in the beginning tho, it was very difficult to spot the enemies and find the correct card and direction in the beginning.

The graphics are really impressive and the musics fits really well the game. The use of the theme is a great idea but the gameplay is pretty frusrating because the enemies come really fast and we don't have much time to figure out which key to press depending on our orientation.
I think that with some little ajustment of the gameplay it can be really amazing ! Good job !

The gameplay is hard but it is well executed and a very original idea, also I like how the music helped ramp the tension up, once I played it a few times I started to get the knack of it, streamed it on my twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/noirvortex

Good job! The graphics and sound are great, and the genres are well mixed! I also liked the animation and the mood. I do think you could use a few more turn cards and a few less attack cards, OR make the character turn after attacking. It was really hard to move anywhere.

Good job, and good luck!

Wow! This is really visually attractive, has a nice background tune, and good sound effects & particle effects. I found the concept fairly easy to understand, but.. damn. This is *hard* game. I found myself struggling with juggling what direction was which, which card mapped to what direction, what number that was, figuring out what my orientation was to the map, and timing the whole thing. Haha I didn't manage to defeat even one scientist. I also spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to move (an unfounded assumption that I could). Overall: a really cool and well polished (visual/audio) game that struggles, I think, with communicating itself to the player. Hope y'all decide to go post-jam with this and keep developing it out! Really impressive!

Really interesting concept and a nice take on the theme. Graphics are amazing but the gameplay is really difficult and is very easy to lose because the right cards are not available. Continue refining the game, it have a lot potencial!

Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional

Looks really great! The music also really added to it.

It's slow to get started, but once enemies start coming at you, that's no longer a problem.

It's a little difficult to figure out which direction you need to work on, and I found myself panning down a lot to look at the arrows to remind myself.
