Development Tools:

  • Unity 3D

  • Visual Studio

  • Photoshop

  • Wolfram Tones Music Generator

Little Tutorial: - Drag people from house to the Totem to decrease Gods Rage (but you also decrease the people happiness then) - The more people there are - the faster Gods Rage will increase - If the Gods Rage is full - prepare for the Armageddon! - By destroying the doom stones you can stop the Armageddon and increase the people happiness

So, you have to watch the Bad Gods Rage and the people happiness to keep people alive as long as you can Note:people will try to run away from the temple!

It's kinda hard to balance the bars, the gods rage fills too fast. Also would be nice to have a sound feedback after we get a "hit" the first 3 times I lost the game I was like "wtf"

Pretty cool concept though, would love to play again after some balance (:

@relixes Thanks for your feedback:) I know it's quite hard, but if i make the filling faster the game will be too easy (I tried, trust me). Also, there are HP on the right side, but, unfortunately, sometimes they don't appear correctly in some definitions (I don't know why:( ). But it is something about hardness too, so you have to watch your HPs.

@erendelous I actually was aware of the HP on the top right of the screen!

But sometimes the people happines got to low withouth I noticing it and since I wasn't payng atention to the HP "bar" I didn't know I received a "hit".

Very cool concept, but idk if i'm doing something wrong or if it's impossible, I can't get past like 38 points as the rage bar fills up too fast. I think that this could be quite a fun game with a bit more balanced gameplay or features :)

Weird bug when fullscreen - people seem to get stuck if I move the mouse too fast.
More sound + visual feedback would be good improvement.

Art style is cool, looking at your feed you had a blue sky previously. Thought about blending between blue and red to visualise the state a bit better?

Ditto for the fullscreen bug – I'm having trouble moving people to the totem.
It would be cool if the sun moved around to get a feeling of the day moving on (just a simple rotation, perhaps the moon coming up and the sky changing color for nighttime)

Other than that, cool and fun little game!

The premise seems interesting and fits well with the theme. Balancing between the wrath of gods with the goodwill of the people and trying to appease both is a concept that can hold a lot of depth.

Unfortunately, fullscreen or not, I can't seem to get the villagers into the totem without them dropping. It really is unfortunate too, because if that bug didn't hinder my progress I bet I would have actually enjoyed it and played it longer. My highest score was 41.

If you do manage to fix the dragging bug, please ping me and let me know! I'll gladly give it another try.

the hame needs balancing but is a very interesting idea. Maybe you could include a mechanic to improve peoples' happiness, then the balance will depend on the player.

It seems interesting. I think it need balance between god and people. I need a good god.

It's an interesting concept, but I have no clue what the heck I'm doing. I followed your instructions, but I'm still not succeeding. At all.

Ok! I didn't totally follow how my interactions with the props really changed things, aside from clicking the stones reducing the gods' rage. At a point, it seemed as though there was nothing for me to do except die.

@mightymaster99 @shulgaboy @tomcat94 @callavicka @patvanmackelberg @deathbysnail @numeralien @daniel-abeleira @ofirma85 Thank you for your feed back!:) Maybe the game really was too hard, but I did some balancing (with one small change - now you have to drag people to the totem by dragging them (holding the mouse button after click)(you know, It seems like I'm not really good in programming when it comes to cursor and mouse(: ) So, I made the bars a bit slower, so now it is easier to fight against the Bad Gods. I wanted to add some hitsound, but It is Compo, and It goes against the rules, as i understand. Thank you all again, your feedback is really, really important for me:)

Made it to 229 people this time around. It's an improvement, for sure! Good job. I figured out that double clicking then dragging the villagers yielded better results that just clicking once and dragging. Once I figured that out, I started playing more. It's been mentioned already, but it's definitely possible to keep a pace that neither lets the gods rage get too high or villager's happiness too low, which I found myself doing until I decided to let the rocks fall just to have something different to do. The rocks continued falling even when the rage meter went down to 0, which was a little strange, but it eventually stopped once I move some more villagers around.

Overall, great improvement. It's actually playable for me now, which is a huge plus! With a little more balance, it could be even better. Congrats!

@tomcat94 Thank you:) So, balancing, balancing and balancing:) You know, I would do more changes, but the Compo do not allow the big ones. Anyway, I am really glad that you enjoyed that tiny update

As many people suggested the game needs a little balancing and some improvements to the dragging of your people. But overall I like the idea, mainly because I decided to do the same
I like the music, gives a good vibe to the game, but there should be some sounds when sacrificing people and when the rocks hit.

Record was 170-something, but the rage and happiness bars fill in a weird way.

Maybe you want to check out my game too

Nice game 🙂

Balancing for this kind of game isn't easy. But I love the idea and the style.
The tribal theme and specially the music are pretty cool !

I saved ~150 person, made to much sacrifices for bad gods 😈

For me, it was hard to tell what the effect of the falling boulders actually was. At some point the rate at which villagers spawned vastly outmatched the rate at which I could click on the hut, then click and drag them to the center. The game had a consistent vibe, which I thought was cool. Well done, especially given the time constraints!

@dougdevs thank you for the feedback:) Yeah, I thought about some kinda unobviousness of the boulders effect, but, you know, it was too late to change something (:

Interesting concept for a sim game! It contains some bugs though like villages getting stuck on the houses.

+ Nice Music
+ Easy to understand

- Weird Bug with Villagers Geting stuck on Buildings
- Missing Visual/Sound Feedback

all in all a Solid little Game

@blodyavenger @loligxp Thank you for your feedback:) To be honest, It is not bug, It is just my bad programming skill when it comes to cursor and mouse) So, you really need to click on them and then drag (in earlier versions you didn't need that, but sometimes they just stucked in the air out of the cursor). And I know about visual/sound feedback problem, but it was to late to add anything when i noticed that problem (:

Good Submission, i like the use of the theme and the background music. Only feedback is that the dragging of the villagers was somewhat glitchy at times and i got my best score just by ignoring the sacrifices and just clicking the boulders as fast as i could. Good Work Overall.

Nice concept and funny graphics! (:
I liked most the music. The mouse controls were a little glitchy for both picking the citizens and destroying the rocks.

Got to 300 people. Nice idea and execution. Took me a moment to realize what the doom stones where, I thought having the god's rage meter filled would be instant game over. Picking up citizens was tricky, wish you could just drag them by clicking and holding on house instead of having to spawn a citizen and dragging them in from their head.

Unsure if there was a strategy to this... I just kept sacrificing and suddenly it started raining boulders. I assume they were the doom stones so I got rid of them and managed to get to 167 citizens. Is that good? I think the resolution I was playing with was a little broken too as there were elements of the UI that were hanging off of the edge of the screen.

Anyway great job :grinning:

My biggest issue was the fact that people wouldn't be draggable for some reason. Apparently that's a bug in full screen mode though, so at least I'm not alone there. For a super fast clicking game, it helps to have that mechanic as smooth as possible.

I like the premise and game overall though, it's a nice jam game.

I like the music, but I felt the "buy" and drag and drop mechanic is too complicated for me. :) It's a hard game, because of the speed of the god rage.
In 800x600 resolution, I can't see the whole texts.

Hi, nice game, but needing to click and then drag got tiring really fast. It could have been cool to be able to stack people to sacrifice. Also maybe some improvements to impact the village (one people sacrificed gives more appeasement, or faster people generation, etc.) Cheers!

This can become quite nice if you add some animations showing the gods angry and grumpy, in some kind of short cutscenes like the ones in the old Theme Hospital.

Interesting game concept. Not going to repeat the same issues everyone else had but I will say I too find balancing very hard to do during the Compo. The Art and Music helped with the immersion. Good Job!
