------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Consumerism is a game about consuming as much as possible in a short amount of time. A four player top down eat-em-up game. Eat the most unhealthy foods and make sure that you avoid the pesky 'healthy' foods. There are three superfoods found across the map: burn your enemies like in Vietnam with chilli breath, gas your enemies like Hitler did with a can o' beans, and get high on sugar with the literal sugar bag.

Fun idea, would be neat if the character actually grew larger or something as they ate more. Good job!

Fun game, AI would get stuck after a while but usually find it's way. Would benefit from some sound effects.

Good job. It lacks a bit of cleaning in the IA .I like it

I ate some pizza, and some other food. Then I saw more food so I ate that as well. I continued eating food, and then one day... the game was finished. Consumerism!

This was a fun game. It was a little confusing and I struggled to get some good farts off, but the general concept was good. Well done.

Nice idea, however where's the theme..? All in all, nicely done. :)

I don't see why anybody would find that offensive or anything. A bit dull in single player, would probably be better in multiplayer. Also might help if the AI didn't get stuck on walls occasionally.

Like Llama said, would be good if the characters physically grew as they ate more (so you could see who was winning without looking at the health bars out of the way). Also would be nice if there was an icon somewhere showing you what ability you had ready to use.

Not bad dude, your ai programming is really nice, except when they get stuck on walls. Well done!

Hello, My name is William and I was the lead game designer for this project. Feel free to ask any questions. Seeing as you can't reply through this website I'll just answer the most frequently asked questions.

Firstly, the theme. This game (as far as we're aware) works with both themes. The game includes growing (in mass) and two buttons (and mouse movement).

We wanted to do growing but found it messed up path finding too much (and we weren't reprogramming that) so we settled with what we had. We plan to add this in the future.

Sound was yet again a time constraint. I was fairly busy (sadly) throughout the challenge and didn't have much time. Zac (the mastermind behind the coding) was too busy working on code to work on sound. Yet again, something for the future.

Hope this answers any questions. If you have more please comment and I will reply asap.

Within 10 seconds all my opponents were stuck running into various walls and corners and I picked up the food, but it didn't seem clicking left or right did anything? Fun entry, sort of a food fight / running man combo.

It was a little difficult knowing when I had a powerup and what it was. But I liked how the players had smooth movement, and the little colored trail they left. That was a nice touch. Good job!

Was fun for a few plays through, but would be more fun with more obstacles and if the AI didn't get stuck. Also like others have said, if you grew bigger that would be nice as I found the GUI a little confusing.

My neighbor is fat guy, and this game hards him.
But gameplay is correctly normal.

Really fun idea! The mouse movement feels really good, and the AI was a decent challenge (when it wasn't stuck on walls.)

Sound would go a long way to making this feeling more complete.
