Gregory Haulage Inc by Wevel

Icon.png Your friend Gregory has helped find you a space ship to you in your new company Gregory Haulage Inc (named in his honor). You have decided that there is good money to be made by transporting random goods between different space stations. However, the old own of the ship you have took its old control modules with them. So your just left with the few bits and bobs that Gregory could find, you will need to buy new modules as replacements. However, the cockpit is rather small and can only fit a small number of modules in, use the space wisely as you get more and more parts. Make sure you don't explode or run out of fuel, also try to avoid the pirates.

There are three control modules that you will need to have, otherwise you wont be able to move properly these are: - Navigation - Engines - Radar

There are also some modules that allow you to see some more information: - Hull - Fuel - Milometer

Some modules upgrade your ship stats: - Armour - Fuel tanks

And some kill pirates: - Laser control - Kinetic control

Other notes: - You can upgrade some modules, these make them much better. - The default weapons with the laser and kinetic controls aren't very good, make sure you upgrade them. - Some of the upgrades take up more space than their lower level version.

For the WebGL build, if the game is the wrong size, just zoom the webpage to fit your monitor.

This is a pretty cool concept for a game, an expansion on this would be super fun

There seem to be resolution issues, I was fullscreen on a 2880 x 1800 monitor and I didn't seem to be seeing the whole screen, using the webGL version on Google Chrome.

@smt Yeah, I might work on this some more, if I can find the time.

@oats The game relies on having a 16:9 aspect ratio and I couldn't get that to stay without having the resolution being fixed. However you can zoom the page to change the game size.

Great work! Got nice vibes from Elite Dangerous~

Pros:
- Nice simulation
- Cool mood

Cons:
- Took me some time to be actually able to maneuver, and still got shot down fairly easy from pirates, but maybe I just suck at this

Cheers!

It's a cool concept and you've put a lot of polish into it. I found the controls a bit difficult to figure out and didn't really know how using the boosts or navigation affected the ship's position. I think if you made the radar's screen larger and added some real-time visual feedback it would help.

The lack of feedback is somewhat a good thing and a bad thing, like navigating and moving around was pretty cool but I had no idea where I was meant to go or do if I even got there. I'm guessing the pirates were the circles and the objectives were the square shapes? but once I got to them I had no idea what to do

It's a shame there is not much instructions to understand how the different modules work: I couldn't figure the engine one out, and a legend on the radar could be great. I think I found some stuffs to pick up but after navigating a bit, it was impossible to find them back. I don't know if there's some RNG or not but it felt a bit unfair. But except all that, I LOVE this idea, the production is really good, I like how you have to screw/unscrew the module, it's super immersive. Just make it a bit more user friendly and it could be a great game!

The idea is absolutely amazing :D also you have polished all of the controls, truly amazing. I enjoyed playing it and solving how it works. Really nice.

I had a very enjoyable moment with your game then… I got owned by the first pirate that I've met…
I like how the game asks you to install/screw the modules before using them, when leaving the shop you have to turn certain on, reset others, that's very immersive.
Nice game overall.
