Snake advanced by Joran

[raw]
made by Joran for LD 42 (JAM)

Hi random guy playing my game, I see you've found the description. Yaaay! Spoiler: It isn't worth it. I didn't really know what to write, so here's just a description of my game.

Have a good time reading it! :D

You have to control the Snake to get to your food to grow bigger and bigger. But watch out, the borders are getting closer and closer!

Engine: Scratch 2.0

Change notes:
-Adjusted the click sound volume (from 100% to 40%)
-Player speed now changing according to the score
-minor bug fixes

Hey, it's a nice touch on the snake game! Being able to turn only left or right is a bit hard, I would have love to be able to directly select my direction with all the arrow keys. Nice Game overall!

Interesting take on snake to fit the ludum dare. The Controls weren't terribly intuitive though, I would have preferred a system where up goes up, left goes left, right goes right etc.. using four inputs rather than two.

There was also a bug where the score in the top left is a slider and thus I could change it manually.

I like the regenerating health mechanic, in addition to the closing walls: it makes for a very different game. Rather than worrying as much about colliding into myself, I was more worried about running out of time to get the pellets, and sometimes it was worth hitting myself to get one. Really interesting twist on a classic!

Quite a nice snake game, it changes up the classic to fit the theme well!

Interesting idea and good execution!
But (for me) it would be much comfortable if controls were linked to player view, not the directiob of the snake (with arrows)

Interesting snake game and flash too wow (newgrounds flashbacks). I'm going go out on a limb and say I didn't find the controls as unintuitive as other people have said. It was pretty straightforward. I will say though that the sound mixing was off. buttons too loud. also I don't know if it was intentional or not, but since the pips on the snake aren't square, you get overhangs when you make turns. Nice job.

Thanks for the tip @Sunny Sun, I changed the volume to 40%. I hope it's better now. The problems with the controls really did surprise me too. I never had problems with these controls, but ok. People are different.

Controls were not so good. You could move the snake by wasd or all the arrow keys.

_Love_ snake clones. The closing in walls twist added more depth than I would have thought -- racing head on towards a wall in hopes to get the piece and reset the walls before you find yourself cut off and tangled up.

The catchy music was a good fit too. Might have been fun to have the player's speed increase as the game went along. No real issues with the controls, felt natural after a few turns. Had fun with it!

Nice little expansion for snake! I didn't have any problems with the controls as some of the the others here, but as you have said, people are different. Art-wise, the decision to add dots to the walls is great. It helps seeing the walls move.

Its an interesting take on snake, snake has had many many variations but I dont think i've seen this kind of variation. Graphics were a little strange maybe add a black border along the colors. Over all good job.

Nice variation on classic snake! As other people said, would be nice to be able to click directly on the direction you want to go (although that did add an additional challenge to the game)

I enjoyed this one. I can honestly say this is the first game I've ever played where your lives are measured in decimals, you have 10 lives by default, and your lives can regenerate... an interesting take!
