I WON! i like the turn based fights and the artstyle, and you also got the them right!
could use some audio or music though or the gameplay becomes a lippe boring. and maybe also some kind of map? i wondered for some time.
great game though! you should definitely contenu on it

@jannick-larsen I'm really glad you like what I could do best.

As for music and sound, I have no experience in working with them (i can play the guitar at best), also I had the time to think to music and sfx at 2 hours before the ludum ended (and it was 1 AM :^) ), but you're definitly right. Some music could would definitly improve the game.

Also I had the plan to make more character and enemies and attacks, but still due to time constrains I couldn't fit more of them.

Also the map would have been a nice addition you're right, but I really didn't think about it ahah

Still this is the first game I ever finish and I'm pretty glad out it come out; if anyone finds any bug or crash let me know!

Great game for a first entry, also I really liked the art style! Next time you should try to add some music so the gameplay looks more intense. Could use [Bosca Ceoil](https://boscaceoil.net) to create some 8-bit tunes

@erick-santana-rodrigues ahah thanks for the kind words. And thanks for the suggestion for the music, I tried with BeepBox but it was the first time looking at it and had little time.

This software seems pretty neat and I'll definitly check it out.

Overall I liked the art style and the game mechanic. But this game needed some music or battle sounds. Good job!

@tpamir you are definitly right. Next time I'll get melody going on ;)

I'll start with the fact that the art is bloody amazing. I don't know why I'm so drawn to it, but I'm guessing it's the palette (part of endegsa32, see I remember!)
I guess the only improvements I can ask of are some more enemy variety (more than stat increases) and some sound, but who am I to tell you? I only have one enemy!

@watdowtal you don't need to have made a masterpiece to give some solid costructive criticism.

Your points are valid, as for enemy I tried the holy trinity of the fast one, the bulky one and the balanced one, but I f*ck up the turn sequence and enemies attacked always for last. ops

Nice game with pretty graphics, I liked the combat implementation, although it's very short and easy.

@suchista thank you for leaving the feedback. I was afraid to make enemies too strong and had no time to balance difficulty and ended up making the complete opposite. Ops ^^'

Very nice game! I really like how simplistic the art is! Healing points are a little confusing, as they don't heal you to full(or maybe I just didn't understand). The combat is very cool, with you having to strategies who you want to take down. Overall, I really enjoyed this game.

@plagueofminds they should give 8 hitpoints but I did them quickly so they may not be working as intended. Thank you for checking out the game ;)

VERY SOLID GAME! Love the graphics and the excellent use of the theme. Also love that it is in blue rather than the more classical red.

The combat was really good. The art style was simple but great.

@owen-davies the color decision was made on the spot. I was using a cool palette and it looked more consinstent and less time-consuming. Also remember and frozen blue is a hellish color too: in Dante's Hell if I'm not wrong, just before Satan, there is a frozen lake, the Cocito, where the traitors are stuck as their punishment.

@quackingtonvi glad you like it. I spent most of the time on coding the combat right. There are still some fixes to do, but still I'm pretty happy with the end result!

Well done for finishing your first game! The game definitely needs some audio and little more feedback when hitting demons so that your attacks feel a little more powerful

Congratulations on finishing your first game, it turned out really well! Music and sound effects add a lot to a game, but I can understand the difficulties of trying to get it in on time. I would love to see this developed further in the future with more enemies, attacks and maybe different characters you can pick up. Lots of potential. Good job and best of luck!

I won! 5550 points (why not 6660?? :P). Your game has beautiful graphics and very stylish palette - how many colors have you used? Probably something around 10, but effect is... wow, perfect. I love you demons characters, they are funny... Good game, good job! :D

Really cool game: various ennemies, great combat system and I loved the design. As said above, a minimap and a music would have make it even better.

My only downsite (the word is too strongly negative for what I mean but I cen't find another, sorry :/) would be that sacrificing people from your kind does not seem to have any consequences so you have no regret sacrificing them to heal yourself (and, as there are many of them, you can even save some of them)

But congrats for the game, I really enjoyed playing it

Good job on finishing the game. I like your pixel-art style. Turn based jRPGs aren't really my cup of tea, but I guess mechanics were implemented well. Theme was put to good use.

@sadzanenyama I'll definitly add audio in my next works

@roka-josh I'll probably work somewhere around March to make a better version of a turn based game on cultists and demons. I just need to take care of university and plan the idea better, but I think I can come up with something cool.

@kirke the color palette is a part of ENDESGA32, 7 colors of it. Glad you like the demons design

@vivien-fargette yea your point is right ^^'
I had planned to make more type of playable character and enemies to differentiate the combat more, but time got shorter. I'll probably think it better if I'll add any similar mechanics.

@kszaku ahah thanks. Programming Turn-based combat can be a pain in the butt, but I had some reference to look at and was kinda looking into it in those days

Really loved the way the game looked and the single screen style that you had for traversal. Felt very much like old school zelda in that regard, well done. The combat could have used a little diversity to make it a little more interesting towards the middle of the game.
Overall well done!

Although combat isn't super engaging at the moment you have a nice base here. I wish there was some downside to sacrificing because there doesn't seem to be a reason not do it to at the moment. I'd probably add some goal you have to reach before being able to exit as well. Graphics are simple but nice and consistent, I like the pallet too. I always give this advice when it comes to sound: Get a sound generator (like BFXR) and just spend like 20-30 minutes adding basic sounds. It adds so much to an entry just to have some audio feedback for things. Congrats on finishing your first game!

Great first game! Turn based games are my jam! I had trouble figuring out the pros and cons of sacrifice vs recruiting. Really like the art style.

Don't get to play many rpgs in ludum dare, so thanks for that! I won the game, but I didn't really know how. Just collected some spirit dudes and that was that. And I didn't understand what sacrificing vs adding did. Sprites were really well done. Nice job!

You've put a lot of effort in graphics, I liked it. Though I'd wanted to see more clearly what sacrificing/rescueing did so that each of them would pay out in their own way like adding a new ability maybe. Also with some music it could create some dark mood, though the game already does it with empty dungeon hallways and well-desinged and cool-looking monsters. Music would just enhance the mood.

I loved the art!! Amazing job on bringing the old turned-base style
I think it would have been funnier if we could have seen more of the sacrifice part and if its not asking to much, maybe a final boss??
Also if you music and sound effects it would give the game an amazing mood!!
Overall good job team!!

After a bit I got 9700 points. I like the artstyle and the color palette. It's a unfortunate there isn't any audio. The gameplay was fun (although I just ended up sacrificing everyone).
Good job!

Really neat game! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/8e_nn2L0xnc
