Movement glitched a little bit at some points, it would stop from moving in one direction. Good puzzle game. I could see different cool powerups being added to this game to spice up gameplay :D

This game is great. The only thing that could be better is the bullets. It is hard for me to see them. Maybe it could be solved changing the material and adding some effects.

Great entry! Nice use of the theme, and well executed. Shooting was a bit tricky because the bullets were really small, but finished all levels o/ :smile:

I really liked your game! At first I thought it was too easy, but the difficulty definitely ramped up. The sounds / music were on point. I feel like one gameplay tweak that I'd be curious about would be if you / the enemies couldn't change the color of squares once they have already been colored.

The neon graphics of the tiles are so satisfying to watch. The only complaint is the small bullets

@schsam Thank you! As I had no tutorial I wanted the first level to be fairly relaxed for players to familiarise themselves with the controls and the mechanic. Hope it was challenging enough by the end though. I am particularly proud of the music considering I'm no musician, haha! Having the colours not change probably would have fit the theme better. Good suggestion, I will try it.

@allan-kong Glad you liked neon as I spent way too much time on achieving the effect. Not something I've done before. Unfortunately, I think the neon is partly to blame for the poor visibility of the bullets. Thank you for your comments.

Wow this is really cool. Lots of fun to play. The movement is a bit weird sometimes I think you can get stuck on walls.

Oooh a splatoon style game! I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen any others like this yet for the theme, we almost made one like this ourselves.

I really had fun with this, the controls were smooth and felt good, and the escalating levels helped build up the tension and gave some great challenge (though I did find that even when I lost I could still go to the next level - seems you may have a bug there). The only thing I would say is that you could really use some larger projectiles and some better feedback on whether you were hitting your opponent or being hit yourself. A simple colour flash or some screenshake would go a long way to improve the overall feel.

Not bad for a weekend's worth of work, I'd like to see you take this further and improve it, and hopefully you'll be back for the next jam with something even better!

Good game, the theme was used in a smart way and I enjoyed trying to avoid bullets and trying to shoot down enemies. The controls were a bit wonky and I kept getting stuck at walls and such when I tried to avoid enemies.

The bullets were somewhat hard to see, maybe using the same neon effect for the bullets could work.

Nice use of the theme, I agree with the above suggestion : making the color permanent could be fun.
The glitch in movement are a bit frustrating, as is the respawn location which is often to close from enemies. The sound made by the tile when you step on them is a bit annoying too, but that's ok. End my last complaint will be that the movement is not discrete, the character doesn't snap on a tile, so the control does not feel precise (but maybe it's just me).
But all those are minor drawbacks, the game is very enjoyable :) Graphics are nice and fits the arcade mood. Good job !

This is a great game! I really like the aesthetics: they're simple, but engaging and cohesive. I do agree with some others that the bullets are too hard to see though. I also really like how slowly the first few levels go. It gives you a chance to experiment and learn the mechanics. Expanding this with powerups/abilities as others have said would be awesome! Nice job

Nice! It's a very fun and challenging game. The music and sound FX definitely help set that arcadey tone too. I agree that the bullets could have been a bit more visible, maybe a tiny bit bigger and add a trail. There were a few times when the AI kind of got stuck on the wall too. But overall, a very fun game!

Interesting idea, but the controls didn't really work well here. The movement felt like being on ice, and also didn't seem to reset once you bounce into a wall. That led to a few deaths were I basically stuck to a wall.
The concept however is really good.

Interesting concept. Liked the arcade-like feel and mentioned by someone else here as well. I had a few glitches where the red enemies got stuck behind a wall (essentially causing them to not move and mark spaces red), as well as a few cases where they seems to jump through a wall. Overall cool idea.

Fun game to play ! I agree with the comments saying it is satisfying to see the tiles filling with your color. Yes the bullets are not very visible and also the background has a strange color but the rest is well made !!
