Roomy's Party by Lexyvil
Arrow Keys to Move.
The more you get hit, the more your knockback intensifies.
As an introvert, you like to party alone. Intruders are trying to crash into your home. As they are uninvited, resist them for as long as you can!

Make sure you download the first version if you want to rate. The post-Ludum-Dare version is somewhat improved upon, in which a High Score was added and the gameplay is less chaotic, making it more interactive and easier to navigate.

Once there is a lot of people in the room, you dont know if your actions still do something or not, because its kinda random and its hard to figure out what your movement is since its the sum of the Jump loop, your Input, and the force applied by the ennemies. Can you add a shadow or something to know where you are ?
That's too funny.
Might be fun to lower the hitboxsize and make the enemies bounce aswell if you want the luck factor to still apply. Fun game, cool that you used monogame as well!

To extend the game's life, you could add maybe another button that adds a dash that's on cooldown where you ignore collision temporarily and just dash in a direction for a short distance. That would help you keep playing the game. Maybe have an energy meter that only fills when nobody is bumping into you(To keep it in line with the introvert theme), and dashing uses some of that energy.
I also found myself bumping into things that I didn't expect to. Is the collision at the feet? Where the shadow is? or is it the whole sprite? I feel like colision should only happen where my shadow is since that's the only way to tell where I am in the room due to the player hopping. If it's the sprite, then it makes sense I was getting hit because the player, even though I am fine at my shadow, would hop up and collide with someone above me even though we're on different a Z axis. I could have been mistaken, but just something to keep in mind.
Similarly I agree with @twinghosts It might be cool if the enemies bounce off of you as well, more realistic, since right now they are unstoppable forces hahaha
I re streamed this after I was more awake with some coffee on the weekend!

Good job!
@gtrogers Glad you enjoyed it! I've been thinking of enhancing the gameplay after the playtest phase is done on here.
@jern Haha yeah, a shoving mechanic has been suggested before, no doubt I'll add that. Someone even gave me the idea of having the ability to hit people with a bat, which sounds like the perfect tool. Thanks for trying!
10 out of 10, not enough party people
(high score 660 here)
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

120 Score! It's hard! :)
Great idea to add those dialogs.
Love the game. Theme related. Simple. Perfect.
That's a pretty good party simulator, I mean for me. What's really nice is that some elements may feel "off" but they work perfectly well in your game :
- When there are enough people on the screen, you can just stop using movements and get trashed around, just like in a real party
- When people bump you, you really can't here the music anymore cause the SFX are pretty loud, and you're focused on moving the shit out of them, like in a real party !
I think the only thing I'd love to see would be a function to actually punch people and throw them away, this would be incredibly satisfying.
Anyway, this is a cheap idea but it worked really well. I really felt like I, myself, was throwing a party. Have you been spying on me ??!
Nice Job!
Please do check my game maybe you’ll like it and leave some feedback.
@bog13 @rodrigo-molina @eric-kulbiej Thank you for trying!
The concept is simple and fits the theme perfectly! My only gripe was that it was a little hard to tell where my hitbox was in relation to the other people at the party. That said, I saw you already mentioned that in a previous comment.
Awesome work!
Reminds me a little of my own game.
I enjoyed the music and how everyone is jumping around.
