Firepower by akai_0okami

Update 3/8/17: After recieving some feedback I realised it's possible for the player to become stuck on certain levels. I've made post-jam version of the game where you can restart the current level by pressing the Escape key, which is available to download on the itchi.io page for Windows. The web game is still the original version.
Firepower is a short 2D platformer where you must avoid enemies by using your jet pack or kill them with your flame thrower. You must reach the end of each level with only a limited amount of fuel to power your tools.
The game is kinda finished, I had more ideas I wanted to implement but ran out of time.

That said, the game was actually quite fun and fit the theme well, it just lacked polish in some areas.
**Edit**: On a second attempt I just managed to complete the game, given that there are only four levels I suppose the difficulty curve may be justified, however I still think that it is perhaps too difficult. The close timing may be good for hidden parts of a game, but the average user may find it too difficult for the main game (or maybe I'm just not as skilled as I think I am).
That said I did come back so you must have done something right...
The restart is a nice addition and as the player respawn very quickly the difficulty can be (hardly) handled.
The mechanics felt a little odd when falling, but the jetpack itself flowed well. A jump would have been nice.
The graphics were well done, everyone looked like they were wandering around.
And the music was great, it added a whole other layer.
Enjoyed playing this one. Excellent interpretation of the theme.
Great work!
