Love the art and the feel of the game, nice soundtrack. Got a 103 top score!
Simple but well executed game! Nice job!

This is a well executed attempt at a classic idea. Maybe a little too simple to really be engaging in it's current form, but I could see this becoming very fun with some additions.

It would be nice if there was a rare enemy that would knock the portal back down a little to buy some more time.

Also, powerups that modify your weapons, or add additional weapons would add some very addictive (almost rogue-like) elements.

I loved the subtle pulsing animation on the portal, and the darkness below it. Great visual effect.

Beautiful art style. The ship could be a little more responsive It tends to snowball very quickly but maybe I was doing something wrong.

I can appreciate any shmup that will actually let me fire and move as fast as I can mash, though my wrist may have different opinions. When I first started playing I thought the portal wouldn't have much effect on gameplay but as it started to approach things got claustrophobic quick. Really good entry

It was short but fun, I liked it! moving the ship left/right was a little wonky though.

This is a really well polished game, nice job! The portal moves kinda slow though.

Great game, but was difficult to see what was going on until I died once or twice. it would benefit with a start menu describing what you had to do first! Other than that great visuals and sounds! Made me have some nostalgia !!! haha

Good game. Simple and to the point. This game is a great example why adding a screen-shake effect really adds to the impact.

For future games, I would suggest allowing the player to use an alternative key to the space bar for firing. Rapid-fire spacebar is pretty loud :)

The game feels great to play and the art is simple but nice, the particles when the ship move etc especially.

The music and graphics are amazing. The only comment I have is that holding down a key should allow for some sort of smooth movement.

Nice! The movement and shooting was intuitive and it was nice that each move spat out little dust particles. (Smooth movement not necessary!) Screen shake was nice too, the speed lines also, but those could have moved a bit faster to give a better sense of velocity in a space fight.

I will say that it took me one failed attempt to understand the game's fail state - it just didn't initially click that the portal was moving and that the enemies were spawning closer to me... they don't spawn from deep within the portal but some 30 pixels/centrally above it.

Music, sfx and everything else fit together very well. Just wish there were some more progression mechanics to keep things interesting for longer as I really enjoyed it once I understood it.

Cool twist on the trad genre. Liked that it was "upside-down". Would be nice if the gfx would scale to the container tho. Peeps don't mind pixelated gfx these days. ;)

I like shmups, and it feels like a complete little game so props on that.

I didn't like how it was on press that i shot. I believe i could shoot as fast as i pressed spacebar down so for maximum effectiveness, my left hand remained pressing space bar as fast as it could... Easily got to 107 points, but it felt strained and not rewarding, so i stopped.

I really liked the feedback on moving, sound could have maybe been a bit softer on the ears, but it let me know how many spaces I had moved so I could focus further down toward the void.

Nice shmup interpretation. I like the very clear, colorful looks and the palette you used. Good idea using a different color on the fast enemies, which you need to identify quickly.
What I personally didn't like was the movement in discrete steps. I couldn't get used to mashing the arrow keys, there were too many enemy rows for that in my opinion - but that might just be me.
Still, a well done compo entry. Good job.

Great take on the theme! I liked the visuals and gameplay worked well in general, although as others have mentioned I would have preferred that both the player and the enemy ships moved consistently. Moving in steps made it difficult sometimes to arrive to the fast ships.

The sound effects at first were a bit higher than expected, I had to minimize the game, reset it and lower it a bit on the OS.

A nice plus you have here is the potential. Having variety on how enemies behave is already there, so I'll go with some powerups too (from weapon types to stat buffs, or perhaps some way to reverse the space limitation a bit,...)

Well done!
