Deity of Destruction by Veilastrum
Everyone loves the God of Creation, he who has made all things in our universe-but sometimes the god of creation likes to mess around in his free time to create useless junk. As the god of destruction, you must clean up the mess that the god of creation creates to prevent the metaphysical plane from collapsing.
Controls:
Mouse Left Button: Use normal attack.
Mouse Right Button: Use special attack.
Number 1-3 Key: Switch attack type. (Note for type 3, you must hold the left button for it to really do anything-also, each attack type has their own normal and special attack)
Esc: Pause and Unpause
Attack List:
1: Spark Explosion: Cost effective delayed explosion attack. Special - Eruption Bomb - Very high damaging attack that covers an area costs 60 EN. Cursor will have a secondary red circle when the special is usable to indicate the range of the special.
2: Lightning Bolt: Instantaneous strike of lightning to deal quick damage. Costs more than Spark Explosion, but does more damage per hit and comes out a lot quicker. Special - Thunder Wall: Creates trails of lightning bolts, hitting everything in a horizontal line. Costs 80 EN. A faded red rectangle on your cursor will appear when you're able to use this special.
3: Atmos Slasher: Hold down the left mouse button to create an energy tornado that will continuous damage enemies you run it through. Special - Atmos Bombard: Strikes everything on the screen at the cost of all your energy and putting all specials on a long cooldown.
The goal of the game is literally to destroy all the things that spawn on the field in order to prevent the plane from collapsing.
Current Objects in the game to destroy:
Ethereal Boxes: Are invincible until drop to the ground.
Divine Crystals: Are invincible until they've fully materialize. Despite being smaller in size than the boxes, they take up more (metahpysical, not physical) space and should likely be prioritized over destroying the boxes (they also have more health).
NOTE: The hitboxes of the objects are the circle below them, not their body images.

i did'nt really understand what i was doing, especially with the spectial attack, but that was cool ^^ well done :)
Nice graphics and music too!
also space ends before you notice!
I was quite overwhelmed and confused when the game started--didn't know what was going on or why. I see instructions for controls on your game page here, but maybe you could add a little bit more about the mechanics so it's clear what to do. I finally kiiiinda got the hang of it after a while, but I'm not sure I was very good. There were still colored cubes that didn't appear to have a matching power to attack with, and I'm not sure what the differences were with the special attacks, either. So some sort of mechanics explanation somewhere might help everyone engage with your game better. :)
Great music, very colorful and I love geometric shapes. :)
It's possible some sound effects for the different attacks (not just firing, but some sort of audio feedback that your attack's actually registering) might be helpful. Just spitballing.
Graphically I loved it. Musically, loved it. Conceptually, I think it's a very solid idea. I do think I'd like the overall experience more if I understood it better.
Have a great jam, and thanks for sharing your Godot game with me! :)
We were short of time-so we couldn't make the game instructions and the sounds effects for the jam, but if we were to do a post-jam version of this game, then we'll definitely add those into the game!
Out of everything I've played so far this is one of my favorites! Really satisfying gameplay, if a bit hard to grasp at first (the perspective isn't clear right away, since it's orthographic)
Whatever, the graphics are pretty neat and the game is ok.
It just gets a bit boring when you notice you can easily beat the game by only using thunder wall. By the way, you have to hold the left mouse button before clicking on the right one in order to use your special, which is contrary to what's said in the controls
It's funny because I actually thought thunder wall was underpowered at one point, haha. I guess I'll have to take that back then and recheck on that. EDIT: Scratch that, it is overpowered. Guess some tweaking has to be done for post-jam then, haha. Thanks for your input.
I still don't have any problems with only clicking the right mouse button for specials. Care to tell me the platform you're using? It's definitely not a problem with coding or keymapping here, but I'd like to figure out what problems you had with the right mouse clicking for specials. It would literally be impossible to be the third special if the left-mouse button had to be held.
Nice work.
