Controls disappear after a while making it hard to continue where you were at. The jumps were hard to master, for me atleast. :-) Would like to have seen more puzzle challenge with the goo, it was basically just to follow the level to get where you were going. So not much strategy there.
My only complaint is that the use of theme was a little light, but the overall aesthetic makes up for it. Could've also benefited from a pause or menu option.
Finally, I encountered a bug where after you die, you might respawn without being able to fling the slime anymore, so the game had to be restarted. Overall, great work!
Pros :
- Nice 2D graphics, enjoyable soundtrack
- Great concept combining both the theme and a really fun mechanic
- Level design allows for some challenge while remaining fair
Cons :
- Controls a little wonky on the WebGL version
All in all, great job !
I really liked the idea of launching the slime while loosing mass. I share the opinion of the others, I caught myself trying over and over again after losing.
The musics and SFX are great, and the art too! I liked the theme's visual, with the slime and the dungeon.
It was an excellent idea putting a checkpoint. It helps a lot the game to be not too punishable.
The mechanics are good. But I had a lot of trouble calculating the power to throw the slime. The difference between maximum and medium power could be more proportional.
After throwing the slime, there is a bug that allows you to throw it again in mid-air. When doing this, it's not possible to launch the slime again after respawning. I played the Windows version.
In overall, it's a very cool game!! I had a lot of fun with it! Congratulations to all the team for the entry!!
Perhaps this was just me, but it took me a while to work out that I didn't need to be on the ground to fling myself, and then it took me even longer to work out that I was actually sticking to the background wall; before that, I thought I'd hit a bug every time it didn't let me do it.
I found the slime blobs a little finicky to pick up sometimes, so I would have liked the hitboxes on those to be a little more generous. I also felt that a maximum fling could have done with a little more power, but perhaps that would have thrown the balance of the game off.
I was a little disappointed when all I found at the end was endless black screen. I started trying to work my way backwards through the stage until I hit the control bug others have mentioned and decided to quit.
Overall my criticisms are mostly nitpicking; I absolutely adored this game! Everyone on the team should be very proud!
Hey everyone, thank you all for the feedbacks! We're very happy that many of you had fun with our game. As we also had a lot of fun doing it, we decided to make a blog post sharing some of our production process during the jam.
