The art and sound design are very satisfying, and it's a cool way to tell a story, there just isn't much gameplay or story there as far as I can tell. I think this could do well with a longer, more complex narrative and possibly minigames and branching storylines.

Well, it was nice to have a little break between 2 hack'n'slash !

Agreed, the art is fantastic - I'd love to see more in this style. Not a whole lot of gameplay to speak of, but it's a contemplative-feeling piece.

While more of a short story than a game, it is well written and the artwork hits the right tone for the work. It feels very appropriate. Nice job.

Art is very well done, along with the writing. This seems like a darker version of the Giving Tree to me. Was Shel Silverstein an inspiration for this game?

@brgarnet17 For sure, when I thought of the idea I thought it might be a bit on-the-nose to The Giving Tree. I made sure to credit him on all the pages and stuff.

Loved the art and sound design. Not really much to say about game-play wise, but not all games need to be super in depth.

I think you missed out on being rated on humor, that ending was funny.

A really powerful small experience - great work!! Quick note, I don't know if this is exclusive to me but I couldn't play on the itch build as pressing space moved the screen down rather than starting the game (Gamejolt worked fine however)

The art is very catchy and nice. I also like the way of storytelling. More story would make this game even better, for now after playing I feel not played enough.

@bubblewandgames Hey! Thanks for the support! But also it could just be a stupid thing where you have to click inside the game first :/ Sorry. Glad you got to play it though!

It's refreshing to see interactive experiences in these events. I love the art and the story works well. Over all, really well done.

Lovely story and visual works very well. It's a bit sad but also strangely resilient at the end. Having to click with the mouse to valid the sacrifices was impactful, but a bit strange as it's the keyboard that's used for playing the story. I think there should be a way to play with only keyboard and only mouse. Great works!

Very interesting experience. I lave the artwork, it really makes the idea complete. It does feel well thought through and that is hard to achieve in this type of visual novel. And again i just need to repeat how well it is drawn :) good job :)

I love to come across something like this once in a while on LD. I'd consider just silence rather than the sound when you hit space to make it a little more poignant. Very well done.

This is not a game, goal of Ludum Dare is to make a game.

That aside, I liked it. The sound effects and atmosphere were nice. And the message too.

Beautiful story. I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/cFpZDUQu-Js

Art is nice ,but the gameplay isn't there... it just tells a story without any choices for the player. Like a visual novel with only one choice.
