The Box of Power by PNghasemi

[raw]
made by PNghasemi for LD 39 (JAM)

"The Box of Power" is an UNFINISHED adventure turn-based game in which you enter houses to recharge hearts. In the town, people have lost their heart and replaced that with a machinery heart. but their new heart needs to be charged every morning and if it runs out of battery, they will start nagging and struggling. Your job is to deliver them some fresh heart-power boxes each day to prevent that. In between your heart, as other's needs heart-power. so you will have to choose how you are going to spend your left heart-power boxes at the end of the day.

There's no sound effect and music in the game (ran out of time.) so it's not your speaker's issue.

Hey even for an unfinished thing, this really came out pretty nicely, I really like the art style and heck even as a single round thing (as you have it now), it's a pretty good LD game experience. Great job!

This game is absolutely beautiful, the art is fantastic! I would've liked the indoor movement to be a teeny bit faster and i also had a bug where a man jumped out of the house. But this is a great attempt, even it its unfinished!

I can't hear the sounds but the visuals and the mechanic are awesome.

The game might be unfinished, but the visuals look like a finished game :) The last level was tricky. I was very confused by the moving mechanics at first in general, but the last level's small "aha" moment convinced me. Would have loved to see more levels. Maybe try to spread out your working time more evenly next time between visuals, mechanics, etc?

Also, I think WASD/arrow movement would work well here.

Anyhow, great game, even if unfinished!

I love the art and the gameplay is really good so far. I especially liked the last puzzle and would love to see more. I do agree with others that faster movement and an alternate control scheme could make the puzzle segments feel a bit smoother.

Yeah. there's no sound. I ran out of time. I should've mentioned that in the description.

I spent many hours fixing that issue. before each run, I was praying to God and wanting him to disappear that bug. That's a rare bug, don't know how that happened again. thank you for the feedback btw.

Sorry that this game wasn´t finished.

The concept looks nice, the art is just fine and the story promised to get a warm parable.

Keep on going with your construction site :-)

I think that if you polish the game, and add more content, it could be a really good game!

Ok, so

I reeeally enjoyed this kind of menu, where you have to drive the train, pretty cool !

But, the main system have some design problem, first, the lack of tension on your movement, i can move like i want without any risk.. and never forget : tension = fun !

Then i can't take advantages on my target, if it's always moving far from me, and i can only make 1 movement at a time, and the target too, i'm falling in a no end situation.

And simple warn, if you tension, be sure that when all the target have the heart filled, the player can't loose, because it will provoke a lot of frustration.

Still, GG for this because it's a really nice loooking game, with good potential !

I'm really sorry for my bad english

Awesome game! The art was amazing, and the concept was quite innovative. The only flaw I would say is that I think the movement is a little bit too slow. Other then that, fantastic job! :)

Just played your game. The visuals were stunningly cute! Loved it so much. Shame there's no sound to go with it. Also, I think I broke your game. In the day 1 in the house more on the left, the guys went outside, through the walls.
It was a nice concept, and a really cute game. Hope you get to finish it later!

Really nice work! I would love to see more. Maybe add keyboard support for the movement instead of clicking. I wanted to move the character with w,a,s,d or arrows. Cheers! :)

I love the art. The gameplay is smooth. Great job. The only thing I would prefer, personally, is to use the keyboard more often then not. I just like the keyboard over the mouse, especially when movement is involved.
