The fire's spread speed seems pretty good, feels menacing as well as being slow and methodical.
A few things though:
1. A bit of fire's "end state" feels impossible to know - the very tiny sprite nearing a fire's 0% is unsatisfying to tackle, and when you stop thinking you've killed but you haven't because it's like 1 pixel large, it's annoying and a problem. Rather give the 0% state a bit more visual substance, or give fires some kind of obvious visual cue (black smoke, for example) that makes it obvious you've put a fire out.
2. The fire takes a lot of water to kill, and it makes the game feel slower and less exciting than it could have been. Though the tension of the pace is present in that speed, it also makes killing fires less fun.
With that out of the way: this is super fun! The music is extremely catchy, and I love the character. I like how the refill mechanic makes fires that are farther away from ponds more difficult to manage. I want to echo both of the points that @tuism made too. The moment when a fire dies should be a little more obvious and fires should take a bit less time to put out. Overall, I really the game. Good job!
It was pretty fun though!
I would add some sound effect for taking water and make some glow around items on the ground. There're hard to spot in the heat (see what i did there?:P) of battle.
The sound is actually rather good, if unpolished. I cleared the levels rather fast, so I never got the feeling of losing space, but I get the idea, and feel like it fits the theme very well.
In the end a very classic feeling game! with solid, clear game-play and levels. Great work.
I wish there was more indication that a fire has been put out since I a few came back after I thought I got them and ended my run.
I think if the forest surrounding you was bigger and the fires closed you in more, it'd fit the theme a little bit better in my eyes but still fits better than mine lol.
Great job and look forward to more of your work in the future!
Keep up the good work
