Paycheck to Paycheck by MiltonNH25
You and your family have just moved into a new city with a mere $100 to your name. You must find a way to pay the bills and put food on the table or you and your family will suffer the consequences. In Paycheck to Paycheck you must decide how to allocate your money and how much of your life are willing to sacrifice to make ends meet. Is it worth it to work overtime so that your kid can see a doctor and eat food tonight?

This is cool and it actually make you a bit sad. Cool atmosphere, graphics and music!

As cool as an idea as this is, it suffers from lack of intuitiveness. What's the point in job proximity if lack of transportation makes you late anyway? When does payment come in? How much does overtime affect your health? How much does overtime increase income? Wtf just killed me, I was healthy!

This is awesome, it is really challenging but I managed to get to day 40 without wife/kids/house/job so that's cool I guess :joy_cat:. Good entry :)!

Interesting game, tough choices to make, had fun playing it. Good music and sound effects, created a strong atmosphere.

I am glad people are enjoying the game. @finn-truman I thought the transportation cost being double for the further away job and and pay day being on Saturday would be intuitive once you saw them, but I definitely agree with everything else not being as clear as I would have liked. I probably should have added something that tells the player a rough idea of how all the events effect your health. That would have also fixed the issue where if you get a lot of negative effects stacked up in a day you can go from healthy to pretty much dead for seemingly no reason.

@miltonnh25 I will absolutely admit fault with the transportation thing. I did play multiple playthroughs on different jobs, but for some reason I registered transport always costing the same across all of them. I went back to double check and saw I was wrong. I'm sorry for that.

A game about tough choices! Great (and relatable) take on the theme, even if it hits a little close to home sometimes haha. Well done.

I enjoyed the music, atmosphere and optimization opportunities, even if the game itself was a bit dark. For example, I found I lasted much longer if I let my family die...

Decent game. You really need to balance how you spend your money. Should maybe be able to hover over character or something to see everything contributing to their poor condition. Other than that, pretty good

@firepit-games That is a pretty good idea that I think would help. Also what did you feel was unbalanced with the money?
