I love how this usually goes for the more unsettling type of horror and doesn't rely too much on creepy imagery but rather distortion of the images. The sounds were a bit frightening; I was always on the edge of my seat when going out of the room. Movement is a little on the sluggish side, but it does help to set the pace. I was real worried about the backtracking because of how slow the movement was. \n\nThose footprints, though. eeeugh. And the sound design work is on point. :ok_hand: Great adorable \"night\" music and scary ambiance outside the room. I didn't quite understand the story behind the game. From the get-go, one can already tell that the setting is kind of \"off\", but I didn't really see the payoff to why this character was in this place with this cat. Perhaps there's deeper meaning in the ending, I don't know.\n\nYeah, it was a nice blend of the two genres, good balancing the caring for your pet with the fetch quest aspects of the outside. My hair was on end during all the exploring parts, the ambiance definitely fit well. I liked that the first room locked the door and forced you to backtrack for a key, and then the footsteps! Also, that first eye monster + its loud sound got me good. I can't say that I liked the unsettling music outside of the room, but it was really well done.\n\nI guess in terms of stuff I encountered in my playthrough - it took me a while to realize at the very beginning that you were supposed to sleep in the bed to progress the night, and I also couldn't immediately see that there was space to walk around the first eye monster.\n\nOverall, good job.","likes":3,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"RockhopperGames","author_uid":"1006517","time":"2018-04-27T12:53:00Z","epoch":1524833580,"modified":1524833580,"text":"Very cute, and very spooky! The contrast of the calm melody in the bedroom with the \"scary\" ambient sound and sound effects when a monster is nearby with the cute and scary graphics create an atmosphere full of tension.\n\n\nP.S. That distortion when the monster sneaks up on you is especially awesome since it emphasizes the outlines. Story is perfect and very effective. I figured it was some sort of metaphor at first, but the reveal was still great and left a lot to think about. The music was nice but strangely it was the least interesting part of the game I think.
