Archer's Defense by Laguna

[raw]
made by Laguna for LD 40 (COMPO)

Archer's defense was originally created for 1hgj on the LDJam weekend (which had the same theme as LD). I spent some time on polish and after all this game was created in roundabout 3 hours total.

Archer's defense is a Tower Defense Game, in wich the number of archers you have on your turrets will determine how many enemies will spawn. To add an archer, just click the tower you want to assign him to.

The tools used are Haxe, HaxeFlixel, Flashdevelop. The source code can be found at the gamejolt downloads. archers1.gif

Combining OHGJ and LD into one game? That's a pretty neat idea!

The concept is quite interesting, but I'm not sure how the player can actually influence how long he/she survives, if no matter how many archers you buy, there's just more enemies for those archers. Doesn't that achieve no effect at all? I can't wrap my head around it, but it's certainly interesting to think about

Graphically it looks really polished, even though I think most shapes are just plain colors? The radial gradient in the background makes it all come together :)

A simple, well made tower defense game. The difficulty may not be very well balanced? It just seems that, at a certain point, there isn't anything you can do. But hey, it got me hooked enough to try at least 10 times, so well done!

Nice TD, although it's a little bit hard after a while ;)

This is an awesome little game. It has great polish to the game. Especially for a compo, this is an amazing entry. I really wish for you to continue work on the game. This game has really good potential. Im sure you already know this but you should add things such as sound effects and a graphical improvement. Even though the minimalism works really well and helps with Ludum Dares, if your ever going to work on the game consider having a graphics upgrade. All in all, i love this game, it fits right into my style. Congratulations!

My score: 297. That was fun. Sound sound would have been very nice.
