You are a weird M&M looking blob with feet that don't move at all. Actually, most everything about you doesn't move. Anyway, you are in a land that has run out of power. Only you are able to fix the power in the world and bring light back to the world.

Originally I was aiming to release this for the compo, but some things came up on Sunday and I was unable to finish it then. I decided at that point to polish it up for the Jam and upload it, as I still kind of like the game.

Xbox 360 controllers are supported (and recommended) for playing the game! You can use a mouse and keyboard, but from my playing, a controller feels much nicer.

Controls wise, A and D are for moving left and right, space to jump (tap twice to double jump, duh!). For a supported controller, the left thumbstick moves the player, and A is to jump (again, tap twice to double jump).

For a rundown of the game, collect these (you start off with one in each level):

To activate these:

To bring light to the world and ultimately activate these and move to the next level:

There are only three levels currently. After which, the game closes. The end.

On Windows, you may be required to previously have the latest VC++ redistributable (note, clicking this will auto download the file!).

Otherwise, just have some quick fun!

Fun little platformer.. I was weirdly transfixed with the player character while I played. Very unsettling. I didn't realize at first that you could jump higher by double tapping the jump button faster so I was briefly stuck on level 3. :P I quite liked your interpretation of the theme, it kind of reminded me of the game Flower.

@teacapn glad you enjoyed it! I agree that there should be a bit more explanation to how to play and how the game works mechanically, besides in the readme and in the LD description.

I love how silly this game is. Jumping felt kinda odd.

@sheepolution glad you enjoyed the game! What about the jumping felt odd to you, if you don't mind me asking?

@pandorfa I'm sorry to hear about that, it runs fine on my Windows 10 machine. Did you try installing the VC++ Redist that was linked here?

Also, could I have some more info about your specifications?

As some people have said the jumping is a bit weird, the double jump was kind of counter intuitive.

the ideia of the game is good! I took to long to learn how doble jump work, but when i learn the game flow well. Good Job.

Decent little game !

The double jump is working weird because you seem add some number to the character's Y velocity (where you should SET the Y velocity to some number), so if the characters is already falling the double jump only makes him falling slower instead of jumping. Right now the only way to use the double jump effectively is to hit spacebar twice in a row really quickly.

Also, I love the character's face. Good job

I think this was the weirdest game I've played so far. Strangely captivating. Especially the way it lights up. It was sort of hard to get a feel of what was where in the level, as sometimes the platforms you had to reach were out of the view. A simple 2 or 4 frame animation for the character would've helped, but I suppose it's acceptable given the time constraint.

@zoglu Ah yeah! I hadn't really done 2D "physics" code in a while, so all I did was add to the current velocity. Thank you, fixed it right up.

@diptoman That's no good! I tried to make the platforms be at least partially visible at the default resolution (1280x720) so you at least knew where to go, but I might have messed that up toward the end. Also yes, I was cutting it close for the time so I decided to try and do more things mechanically rather than add animations, though that will probably be next on my list.

Love the concept of having to collect the power sources and deliver them. The controls were a bit tricky; kinda floaty. But definite potential.

I love the idea.. I died so many times, but seeing the environment lit is really nice once you get to a pole. Good game :)

Nice game! The idea of restoring power is fun and unique! The parkoor needs a little bit of work though. You get used to the controls quite easy, but I got stuck at the third level, not finding the exit and not being able to reach the second lamp post... thing... that thing, anyway!

Overall, I enjoyed it!

If you want to see some actuall candy, check out my game called Candy Wars! I just need three more ratings to have a final score!

The game's core mechanics work pretty well, but it needs way more feedback for the player. The player should know when he has batteries with him, also he should know when he used one on a pole. I like the graphics, simple but good. :)
