Explosive Sacrifice by Cute Dog IRL
Sacrifice yourself to the gods!
Land on the altar to ascend to a higher form of being (or something).
But you can't be sacrificed while you are still alive of course, so make sure to be dead when you get there!

This was my second gamejam and my first solo jam! Overal it went pretty well. I really wanted to put some story stuff in as well, but when the deadline came it was too unfinished to make sense (and also quite bad in general) so I had to scrap it all last minute. This was also my first time making audio for a game so that went well :^). Anyway, I hope I can participate again next time!

Thanks for letting me know @wskilljoy !
When I think of the concept, the first genre that comes to my head is 'Puzzle-Platformer Game', trying to figure out how and where you have to exploderise yourself. However the way the game played it felt more like it was trying to be a platformer than a puzzle. The player glides a bit too much on the ground and makes certain jumps extremely difficult. Also I found some of the levels to be built slightly odd, for example in Earth 2 when there's that mine which just blows up and there's nothing you can do about it, I don't understand why you didn't just reduce the players health before-hand. All it really does for the player is make them think that that mine is placed as part of the puzzle; if that makes any sense.
Otherwise I had a lot of fun playing this one. A really good mechanic and idea which works pretty seamlessly. Also, I like that initial message you get when you start up the game ;)
Good job!
You might also want to include a brief description in game of the goal - we don't all read the description first (I mean, we _should_, but we don't). I died a few times on the first level before I came back here, read it and realised "hang on...".
The sound effects were nice but a bit more variety would have been nice (usually when I do sound effects I make a few slightly different noises for each effect and play one at random) and some background music would have helped set the scene, but I didn't have time for any sound so I won't hold that against you.
One thing about the graphics is that it didn't seem to me like the player fit in to the world because he was the only thing with an outline.
For explaining what to do at the start. There was supposed to be some story that gives you a hint on what to do which I scrapt last minute, so that's why there is no explanation. But I think most players can figure it out like this too.
As far as sound goes... I have almost no experience with sound and had enough trouble making these sound effects. I did have 3 sounds for the player getting hit, but since it's completely random you will still likely hear the same sound multipletimes in a row sometimes. I recorded my voice and the sounds of random objects I found laying around and slightly edited them in audacity to make sound effects, which was kinda tedious and didn't have great results, so I'll have to figure something else out there.
And for the art, yeah I agree.
Edit: I almost forgot, thanks for the good feedback! :D
Well done and thanks for dying fun!
