Ultimate Alien Rumble its a shooter game in which you need to kill enemies in other to get more space! The less space you have the closer you are to lose!

Controls

A: Move left D: Move right Left clic: shoot Space: jump

this is us first game in Ludum Dare, we didn't have enough time to pulish it enough, so, some bugs are still in there, we would appreciate if you let us know what you think and what we can improve! Maybe you could figure out how to fix the bugs, they are really weird.

Thank you for playing!

@rokink Thank you! we wanted to implement that along a hi-score, but we couldn't make on time.

@heyycap Thank you! We also belive that its a good prototype for a pulished game, we migth continue working on it.

@marshal Thanks a lot! In the last hours we tried to fix all the bugs, yet we couldn't, we will try to fix them in the future.

I like the character but there are some bugs. if i don't press the run button he runs sometimes from alone. The camera zooms in and if i shot it snaps back. A cool feature would be that the arm couldn't be rotated 360 degrees. Just 120 or 180. To shot things behind you the player should turn.

But i like the music. The graphics are super cool:)

I like the concept behind this entry, would be cool to see it more fleshed out!

A good start to your Ludum Dare contributions! Hope you submit something again next time.

Would love to see this one fleshed out a bit more. Great take on the concept, and the art and music is charming!

Congrats on your first Ludum Dare. The idea of a shrinking screen is pretty cool. The main bug that I found to be a massive issue is the shooting direction changing.

I like the art style, but couldn't quite see the shooting was bugged. (No pun intended) The gun would sometimes only shoot left, and at seemingly random intervals. Fix that and add screen shake, and you'd have a game I'd want to play!

I think conceptually this is a great idea, it just needs a bit more polish. The art and sound assets are great, and fit the setting really well. But I think the spawn pattern could be changed up a little bit more, and maybe add some more spawn locations to change it up. Post if you decide to polish it up!

It's a really interesting game concept. I really like your alien design.
The only advice for I have is to make a smoother camera zoom because the jumping from on to the other camera position while zooming is too hard.
Good Ludum Dare start. :)

@swini Hey! Thanks for the feedback! The camara snapping back its part of the main mechanic. For the other things you mention, we tried to fix all the bugs on time, but we simply couldn't, thanks for the comment!

@brygpo Thank you! We will keep working on it and of course will keep coming back for more jamming!

@tony-redmer Thanks alot! We worked hard on it and we'll make sure to polish all of it!

@masterkrepta Thanks for the comment! Yeah, the shoot direction was our main issue, its breaking our brains, hopefully we'll fix it soon.

@flashviper Thanks Flash! It really needs that screen shaking right? Haha We'll make sure to add it.

@aaron-horrar Thanks for the ideas! We think they will help to better the gameplay. We'will try to add them.

@norrimo Thank you! Yeah, the camara needs to be way more smooth, we'll work on it!

@witylernn Thanks for the comment! We put a lot of effort into that.

Very cool game! This is the first time I see such a mechanic (you have to stay on the screen), and I really like. Also, the music, although simple, is nice. I actually have no complaint about your game, maybe only the fact that the camera is not very smooth, which isn't such a big deal at all :).

I really liked the graphics and sound assets here, really nicely put together. It looked like the gun was tracking the mouse, but the bullets weren't, which was a little funky, but I was still able to kill things, so it all worked out there. If I were to give a suggestion here, I would say that the difficulty level was pretty static the whole time. The enemies weren't really coming fast enough to be a threat, and although that is fine at first, it also means I probably could have played indefinitely. Maybe adding a health system so that taking contact damage was a thing? Or steadily increasing the number of enemies? Or reducing the amount of space you gain after killing each enemy as time goes on? Something along those lines to make it ramp up in difficulty over time, basically.

The art assets are good, and the game plays well enough. I feel the theme is kind of forced and as long as you stand still and spray the gun you can't lose. The enemies don't appear to do any damage so letting them slam into you and then shooting them seems to take care of the camera shrinking issue. The camera could probably be better served being static and you see the play area shrink or limiting your vision.

Hey! it's a nice game.
The graphics are amazing and combine so good with the music!.
I couldnt understand at first what was the objective, so I have to wait until the camera were so close to lose haha.
I think that its a good thing to make smoother, the weird arma shooting invisible lasers too hahaha.
But it's ok, it's a really interesting game.

Nice game. I like the audio and the graphics are great. However, the jump function is a little bit useless and it is slightly impossible to shoot all the aliens before they get to you since they come at a face pace from several different directions.

Oh nice first entry to ludumdare, apart from the technical issues I did enjoy the art, the audio and the shooter mechanic. Introduction of enemy dying splatter particles and effects would give nice addition to the game hehe. Well done!

Clever use of the theme right here, I liked your game's concept, and congratulations for your first entry !

Graphics are quite good, the music fits well also ! I think you already have enough feedback about what's a bit wrong about the game in terms of bugs or feedbacks from the game ; I believe the real problem is that enemies aren't really a threat themselves, you just shoot them before they rush you, and eventhough they do, you get no damages. They spawn at the same frequency, on the spawnpoint each time. If you can fix that, I think the game would be quite cool, this is a nice take on the theme and you can really elaborate with this !
Good job :)

cool game, it's ridiculous in a good sense!

the graphics are relly excellent, the audio is good as well overall, although the tracks could be a little bit longer as it gets a bit repetitive after a while

but overall it's a really nice entry. congrat's for your first ludum dare.

Beautiful art but for some reason my character was never shooting where aiming towards. The bullets would exit at a 90 degree angle to the weapon and I was seriously confused what was going on =)
