LANDESCAPE by designernap
OK, this came in super hot and on fire so I apologize for the bugs and lack of controls listed in game.
On a hostile planet, all law and infrastructure has broken down. Everyone is heading for "The Tower", the last hope of survival. There are only a certain amount of places in the tower and they are running out of space! Get there before they are full. Evil bounty hunters are tying to get there too and will do anything to stop you. Kill them before they kill you.
CONTROLS
WASD - SPACE BAR and F / Right Shift
Game Pad - A button and Right Trigger
Kill the low enemies with gunfire and try to take out flying enemies with water charges.
Ammo is hidden in the environment. Shoot stuff to see where.

patches incoming I am SURE of it!
* UPDATE 11am Monday 13/08/2018 *
Fixed a bug where you couldn't complete the game. One variable change has fixed this and also noticed that the second audio wasn't playing when near death. Fixed collision on ship and now using the correct audio channel for explosions!
Thanks to my wife and friends for finding these issues.

Too bad you didn't had the time to use the space left aboard as a real mechanic. And I have to admit, like Alex, that's it felt a little slow. But hey, it's a compo, and the overall work is really impressive !
PS: last Ludum, when I saw your game, I realized I should try to be more personnal during jams, to think about expressing myself rather than only finding a cool mechanic. That's what I tried this week-end, I really loved it and I have to thank you for that ;)
@amour-du-pain The space left aboard is actually a mechanic linked to the ships... if they get past you, the spaces disappear quicker but I don't think I did a very good job of communicating that :) And Thank you for your kind comment! I am really glad you have put something personal into your game. I am on my way there to play it now! :)
@alex-adedge Thank you! yes, I had planned to balance the timing and get it all sorted out but the blueprints were a mess by the end of the 48 hours, so kinda made a mistake there :)
graphics, audio and mood fit together quite nicely.
The speed of the ships could be a little faster to get that "gotta hurry"-feeling, but other than that the mechanic is really fun.
@somuch Thanks for playing! Most people react badly to the slowness so I am glad you enjoyed it :)
The graphics seemed just under the perfect polish level, and the controls were a little slow. I also wasn't able to figure out how to kill the bombers.
I gave this one a 3.5/5, mostly because I feel like more features could have made the gameplay more exciting, and the audio, while fitting, wasn't among the best audio I've heard.
I do understand that you only get 48 hours, though, and what is here is very promising. Good job!
@daniel-rincon Thanks for playing!
@samusoidal and @nyri0 .. you kill the bombers with the charges - A button on game pad or F on keyboard. I listed those controls above but I understand they should have been in the game. A lot of people have said the same so don't feel bad about not finding it. The splashes from the charges hit and down the bombers :)
Without adjustable angle, you have to wait for the enemy to be at the right position to shoot.
You really built a world and ambience. The music is really great, and loved the menu and the end of the game.
Maybe it would have been better to put a reminder of the controls in the beginning or to make a really short tutorial level.
Really nice game, I didn't spot any space tea though! Your boat is a little slow, but at the same time I feel this makes the game more tense! I had absolutely no luck taking out the ships above me, though I gave the bounty hunters some hell! Really liked how the gun would shoot faster as you held it down, to make it more brutal would have loved to have had an overheat on the weapon.
Lovely chilled out music too, super fancy looking main menu too!
A very well done compo entry. :clap:
