What the heck?! A plane in space?! And it shoots lasers?! Become the one and only in Stray Impulse. Fly around and shoot EVERYTHING.

Controls: It is "WASD" to move and hold "Spacebar / Left Click" to fire laser.

Avoid missiles that chase you and destroy everything to get power.

It was a tough three days but it was a good three days spent. Overall, we all had a great experience and wish to continue onto the next Ludum Dare challenge.

Tools Used: Unity 2017.1 (C#), Piskel, BFXR

This was a really fun game and I really enjoyed it. The graphics were really good, and the overall gameplay was really fun. It wasn't too easy and not too hard, it was just the right level of challenge. Unfortunately, there was no music, I think it would be a bit better with music. Overall it is a good game. Good Job :)

Nice game. Good snappy game play. I really liked the graphics of the plane, a good sense of movement with the animation. I found the initial burst when you accelerate a little much. Tough but nicely balanced. The damage indicator was a nice touch. I think a radar map would but a great addition. Great work!

This is great! Movement feels really good. Love that initial boost when you start thrusting - it adds a lot to the gameplay. Sound-wise it felt a little quiet when just flying around, maybe a low hum would've worked well. Also sometimes it felt like I was very unlucky and a rocket would come from the direction I was already going, making it near impossible for me to avoid it. Some kind of offscreen arrow indication, or maybe even some spawning logic could work to solve this. Overall, very nice work. I played this a lot.

Production value is great in this one, good job! The concept is simple and common, but it actually adds to this game - it works just fine, it looks amazing and you don't need a lot of tutorials. Such a brilliant entry!

Really love the graphic style here. Though the gameplay was pretty simple, it balanced out nicely with the theme. Luftrausers with a twist!

I like that I can play on main menu screen for training. But I can't press Play or Quit button on Linux, lol.

Controls were a little too floaty for my taste, but other than that, no complains here!

I found the game fun, quite challenging, graphics where simple but fitting. GJ!

Very solid entry! I liked how you kept things minimal with the art at least stylistically, yet you added some nice polish to things such as with the smooth turning animations and the flame graphics (Though I will say the smoke trail particles did feel a bit out of place with the pixel style you have going on for the rest of the game). The lack of music is a little disappointing but not too big of a deal and the sound effects were crisp, punchy and satisfying. The gameplay was fun but it did take me a while to get used to the controls, especially if I was using the mouse to fire as I kept expecting the ship to turn towards it rather than having to manually turn myself using WASD. After I got used to it though, it was a fair bit of fun. Good work!

Now, I understand what you meant with this video link on my entry ;)
It's a challenging game because of the impulse move system, you can't count on precision moves to avoid nor fight enemies, it needs to handle it differently than habits a player have. Clever idea, and nice realisation, good work !

Good game! I really liked the graphics and sound effects. My only complaint is that the controls are kind of annoying. I would prefer if the mouse was used to aim and/or steer. I enjoyed it overall.

It's a nice take on the theme, and the gameplay feels pretty solid too! Managing power to blast asteroids, save yourself, while also manoeuvering the ship was quite challenging and fun! :)

Controls were also quite responsive and comfortable for me. More sounds could've made the experience a bit more immersive (ambient sounds, soundtrack, etc.), but it's a nice package here!

Great work, congrats, Good Luck! ;)

Fun game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcB7mPgMq7c
