Hm. It would appear I ran out of space for my title.

Incoming transmission from the far future.

Set your phasers to Fun. It's the summer of 199996 and the Olympics are about to be in full throttle. You play the relay team of Planet Sports, in the grandest race of the summer. Starting hundreds of miles above earth's surface (somewhere in space) You will pass the baton from athlete to athlete in the zero gravity septathalon, to see who will be the first team to Run their way out of space! The first team to reach earth wins!

The player physics are intentionally wacky.

The game is easier if you don't try to speedrun-full-throttle-maximum-turbo your way through the game

Controls: W A S D to move, Spacebar to jump.

I Repeat: The player physics are intentionally wacky.

The game will take you back to the first event if you die, but it's not too bad because the game isn't too difficult

The issue with running the game has been solved.

I guess it Ran out of space and the file path was too big to execute.

It doesn't work for me, can't launch mono apparently. Also, be careful with the font you use. I recognize Paper Mario TTYD's font and I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to use it...

@talios Thanks for the heads up. I'm not aware of any rules regarding what fonts I can or can't use. Popjoy is just another font as far as I'm aware. No idea why it won't run for you though...

Update: I checked the rules. Font's are allowed under **Special exemptions for the compo

It made me laugh really hard. I want to like this game a lot, but I had a hard time with getting sent back to the beginning. Maybe I should just get gud haha! Awesome job! Congrats on finishing :)

Winners don't do drugs! This is a fun game but I think that you shouldn't press the skip button 2 times after a death. Still, a solid game! Also it could have been a funny thing to add 4 years to the year counter after each death

@blobo Yeah but the font needs to be free for use, and this one is from a Nintendo game, that's why I'm a bit worried. I'd say it's like the exemple of dervatives in the rules section

I've had fun playing! It was really funny on some parts, but it's a bit frustrating to start all over again when you die.

I've had the mono library error, too. By placing the folder to the root of the hard drive I've managed to make it work.

Alright, The problem with running the game has been solved. It turns out giving your .zip folders incredibly long names, followed by giving the game an incredibly long name is a bad idea. Anywho, it's shortened and should work properly for everyone now. Thanks!

I had quite some fun participating in my first ever olympics! Good job overall, I think the physics can be a little too wacky at some points making it unforgiving, since you have to start all over again.

Great idea! I like the wacky physics as well, as it gives these good old olympic games a fresh new look!

I am not a fan of restarting all over everytime you fail, as you more or less have to die a couple of times before advancing any further. I like the 110m hurdles, but not enough to play it 6 times in 3 minutes :p

Other that that, good job!

(The screen size is a bit too big for my computer though, it barely fits when I drag the window as high as I can)

The title length made me lol

If you return to the title screen from playing you cannot start the Olympics again

I liked the variety of disciplines, however, this enjoyment was weakened by the fact that every time you die you have to redo the same ones with the same level layouts over and over. This is an issue, because you often die due to your not knowing what the discipline you're about to face even is. For instance, I once touched a yellow block just out of curiosity. And that insta-killed me, forcing me to try again from the start.

The "intentionally wacky" phyzzikz can cause you to very slowly glide down or up towards the floor or ceiling respectively, slowing your run down dramatically. Not sure how I feel about that.

Overall, I enjoyed the variety. Ambitious.

Nice game, quite humorous ^^ But really hard x) The controls are a little weird (and that is what you want I think x) ). You could, at least, save the progression after each test ^^' Cool music and nice art ^^

I appreciate the humour and the wide variety of game modes in this game, but I think the wacky physics were a detriment to the game. For example, on the hurdles, you have to jump back and forth quite a lot, but it's entirely possible to bounce off a wall yet lose almost all of your vertical velocity, all while being just out of reach of a wall to jump from. It leads to a lot of waiting around, especially on that level. I know you said the physics were part of the game, but I just don't think removing player input for a joke is a good idea.

I loved the idea. I didn't like it takes too long to restart when we die, because it's very easy to die.

121.2231 seconds, I got lost while jetpacking, but I still won Gold!

This was fun, I like the wacky events, and the long jump made me laugh when I figured it out on the second try. Turns out I'm not the only one who thought of literally running in space.

Only complaint about the game is that it would have been nice to simply be able to hit a key to restart, instead of using the menu and then skipping the intro, every time!
