What is Recharged?

In this game you play as a robot who is constantly running low on power. He needs your help collecting batteries to keep his fuel up so he can keep chugging along!

Along the way you'll be able to pick up one of three power-ups. The solar panel which allows you to periodically generate your own power, the gas can which increases your maximum fuel capacity, and the efficiency drive which decreases the rate you lose fuel.

How long can you help this poor robot from running out of power?

Recharged: A game about collecting batteries

Tips

  • When possible, grab the solar panel and efficiency drives. On their own they're both pretty nice (especially solar panel) but as a combo they're very strong.
  • Batteries get rarer as the game goes on (starting from once a second to once every 3 and a half seconds) while your fuel usage doesn't change. Don't get discouraged if you can't get past a few minutes (my high score is 2 and a half min in testing).

lasted 1:10 and gathered 53 batteries on my second playthrough. The sounds are all good and the music is great. The graphics aren't groundbreaking but it all worked well together and made for a pleasant look. The controls and concept were intuitive and I had fun playing overall.

Overall, it's a simple but enjoyable and challenging game. Nice entry!

I managed to 43 batteries on first run and 50 on the second one. Maybe you could improve the game so batteries do not appear too far? Right now it seems the batteries' locations are totally random.
The sounds, music and cute little robot voices were really neat !

Sounds and music were good, but the gameplay was a bit too simplistic for my tastes.

Cool little game. But there's not much to think. Everything is good so the player just goes around picking stuff and doesnt have to think. If there were some bad things, the player would have to think more. To bring it to the next level there should be some stuff that deppending on the situation might play in the player's interest or against it. For that you'd have to think of some other mechanics, but what I mean is that, as someone once said, a good game is a "series of meaningful decisions".

The sounds feel good. They give a very cool vibe

I unfortunately get an exception when I try to run it under Linux (64 bit Fedora) but I'll try it again on another box.

The error is: `java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/libgdxattila/31ce78a2/liblwjgl64.so: libjawt.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory`

Maybe someone knows how to solve this?

Very tight and responsive controls with really nice sound effects and music. The periodic "robotic speaking" was my favourite! Both relaxing and intense to play, good job!

A rather simple game... TOO simple, perhaps! It feels a bit weird because it plays like Snake with not as much challenge, and it took me a moment to get used to its rigid 4-directional movement. The upgrades only seem to appear once, and honestly has very little bearing on the game. ESPECIALLY the capacity upgrade, because you won't be able to get more than 10 energy by then. Still, I can see this game has some promise; just need to find a way to scale the game up and make it more challenging and interesting!

Fairly simple but definitely fun for the short time I played it.

Upgrades were nice but I just felt like everything was out of my control, like I couldn't do anything to survive because the batteries spawned to slowly. I mean obviously you want the game to end at some point but I don't think that was the right way to do it.

Loved the voices, music and sounds, definitely quite solid for what it is.

Great little SFX. Would love to see a leader board or some way of peer comparison. Nice job!

Nice and simple game. However it was a bit too easy so I never felt like I could lose. Leaderboard would be awesome. Good music too.

Mmm, Snake without a snek. Simplicity. SFX was good, but gameplay could use more content. Energy was implemented in a weird way. I scored every drop but still ran out of energy after 1:22 and after 1:08.

Really nice sfx. And I like the simplicty aswell. Complexity doesn't always have to got overboard!

lasted for 1:29 but the batteries weren't spawning quick enough so I easily ran out of energy. Nice game though.

Well made game and nice use of the theme, solid and addictive gameplay. Really liked the music and sound effects as well. I would have liked an item drop that effected you negatively as well to add a bit more depth.

The idea is here (a kind of survival game : eat batteries and other stuffs to service) but the gameplay mechanics lack some elements to create a challenge. You should combine your idea with some puzzle mechanics for instance.
