Super Smash Globes by blobo

[raw]
made by blobo for LD 38 (COMPO)

A couple days ago in a galaxy somewhere, everyone turned against each other, one on one. In a battle to the death, plot out all of your moves before you the match begins. Look at your opponents moves beforehand to avoid their attacks and find ways to attack them instead.

The only bad thing i can say about this game is that i can't pause and close the game, i have to lose to do that.
The rest... everything is perfect for me: animations, graphics, music...
Very nice job!

A very cute game! And you found time to do character customization!

Great, well polished entry! The fact that you managed to generate so much content (music, campaign levels, character customization, great graphics/animations, a tutorial) for a compo entry is really impressive. I can't really find anything to criticize really. If I was really nitpicking, I could just mention that sometimes I'd get the "draw" test over my "win" text, little graphical glitch there. The background dudes could be a little distracting at times.

Well done, this is really impressive.

As a puzzle, it was interesting to solve each one. It could use some sound effects to go with the music.

Would've liked the option to replay specific levels in the campaign, other that that I really enjoyed it! Instruments being added to the song as the campaign progressed was a nice touch. Definitely an interesting and unique game.

I played this on Livestream Today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr-ZBj_dJa4

I FIGURED IT OUT! I actually enjoyed this, though I was very miffed about the enemy AI blatently using a different set of rules than I did. Good puzzle mechanics!

@occultone They don't. There's a tutorial.

But holy cow, it's a ton of feedback seeing a video! Thanks!

Wow, nice work. This game was actually quite fun. The puzzle element was original and really quite nice, and working out the plans of what do to in my head was great. Although I must admit I used trail and error a lot. The tutorial was well done and the campaign was just the right length. I'm also impressed that you got customization in, nice work. One thing I would do would be to improve the presentation, as the graphics and audio were lacking slightly, and the particles in the background would be confusing with the particles in the foreground. However, great work.

I like the depth of having to plan out the whole fight before it even starts. Though I was a bit disappointed when I was able to defeat the last guy in only three turns.

is impressive how you managed to make a Tutorial, campaigns and character customization! The gamplay was awesome!I love this type of Strategy games that make you think in advance! The difficulty curve was great for my! I love the survival mode (i think they have infinite levels right? ) ! i found a bug (i don't know when this happened) but sometimes appears two End Game Huds (Try Again-Main Menu Buttons) overlapped... GREAT ENRTY

PS: A button for open the menu and go to the menu without losing would be great too

When I try to make a game there is only one thing I want ... to make it as fun as possible. Your game is a perfect example of what a game should be ... the soundtrack is not that good and the graphics are acceptable but not that awesome either ... but its fun.

Its the "OMG this was awesome" kind of fun. I passed all the levels and felt very satisfied in the end. This is one of those games that has that "something" that makes it great ... one of those games that if it was on the google play store or app store I would gladly buy and never regret my decision.

A game should not be about technical skill but how good it feels while you are playing it and you take the cake on that department. Gonna give you 5/5 stars for this one ...

Congrat and great work! :P

Graphics were good, as well as the audio, but it seemed to be lacking in the fun department. Sorry to say it. The final boss was hilarious though. But one thing that was no good was that after he placed the bombs, they never went away, so he died on the next round, as well as them shrouding the view of the endgame. Otherwise, it was an okay game, and it certainly was an amazing theme entry if nothing else.

Not really my kind of game, but I can appreciate the effort. Plays and looks nice. Some audio-fx for moves and stuff would have made it feel more alive. Good job!

From the title, I wasn't expecting a puzzle game, and from the level of polish, I wasn't expecting this to be a compo entry! You've obviously put in a ton of work to this, so congratulations! I enjoyed it a bunch, though it was a little bit disappointing that the best strategy was just to find a wall to bounce off and wait for your foe to come to you...

Still a remarkably developed entry!

Played the OSX version and seemed to work ok. Ran into few issues but dunno if they're only present in the mac version. The most "breaking" bug was getting stuck at the end of completing the tutorial, nothing did anything and had to force quit and restart the app. All that sweet character customization lost :(

Another visual glitch that was kind of annoying was that every sprite seemed to have randomish depths. Like water of my planet would appear in front of enemy planet and ground didn't and so on.

Major props for adding character customization. I'm guessing you added it because you could then recycle the same character for player and enemies without getting repetitive.

This was a pretty sweet puzzle game, though after you get the hang of it, the campaign is pretty easy. Survival has the potential to be much harder though; sometimes it is _very_ easy (maybe don't start adjacent to the enemy when the player makes the first move), but for non-trivial cases you have to think on your feet a lot more since you only get once chance and can't memorize the enemy's pattern.

Two touches I liked a lot were the character customization, and the fact that there was a 'map' so you knew how many levels there were left.

All in all, a very cool game. Good job, especially as a compo entry!
