LimitedActions

Description

LimitedActions is a game where every action you make will have a big impact on the whole level, reducing the space available! So be careful which path you'll go to choose. Most of them are deadly!

Screenshot_3.png

Because of the limited amount of time for the development, the gameplay is not very long and there are some little mistakes in level design and grammar, which I'm very sorry. There are 18 levels and an easy BossFight

Screenshot_2.png

Because of my passion for making strange things in my games. I add a stupid and non-sense story about one of my projects characters. The main character of the game is also the narrator/teacher.. in the dialogues you can find a lot of grammar mistakes.

That's everything!! I really enjoyed my first LudumDare, was a fantastic experience. I really hope you like the game and also I REALLY HOPE there are not many bugs, haha! (WARNING: I NOTICE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE DIFFICULTY IN THE FIRST SPEED LEVEL... SUGGEST: SHOT AND MOVE AT THE SAME TIME... I’M GOING TO MAKE THE LEVEL EASIER IN THE NEXT UPDATE)

Thanks, Stroe

Liked the game but I just couldn't get past the speed level. Maybe my speed isn't just high enough :D

I really liked this game. The sound, graphics, gameplay and theme all worked really well. It had good humor and was quick to pick up and play. The only issue i had with it is that you've gone for a steps based game (as in you can only make certain number of moves) but then also added some time based things in there. Like the powerup having a timeout. For the powerup there was nothing stopping me or no reason for me to just wait until it came off cooldown and then use it again. Which meant i just stood there for a bit.

@antsa Thanks!
Owh... probably I exaggerated the difficulty of some levels thinking that the game is too easy, oops.

Probably going to submit an update after the "PLAY+RATE" event finish.

I love this game! The dialouge system and the graphics were the best parts.

@rob-parker Thank you very much for the feedback! Really appreciated!!

I added the superpower because I thought it could help me with level design. But I messed up a bit with... In fact I used it like 2/3 times, so yeah. You're totally right.

Again, thank you!

Nice job! Dont know if it was a bug, but I was able to go through the "Impossible stage" after pressing R and going throught the black area.

@diego-goncalves Thanks! :))

No, it wasn't a bug... I just wanted to make a kind of joke, haha

This is a really cool concept. Levels get trickier one after another. And I like 'chromatic aberration' graphics. Well polished. Good job!

I like that you decided to add dialog to this game. It makes the game a lot stronger. Overall it was fun, although the speed level was quite challenging.

Interesting to see a different take on the same theme interpretation that I did :)
You really nailed the mood and art, well played!

PS:18 levels is already a thing ;)

Hey mate, I really enjoyed the experience you delivered, you are playing with the player through the fourth wall this is something that should be done carefully, and I think you succeeded in it.
Hope to hear from you more, keep on the great work!

Shoot me your twitter if you have one, would like to keep en eye on your future works.

Nice game, not quite polished enough I think- there were some instances where I had negative space yet still some space to work with. The concept of having timed things (enemy attacks) vs limited instantaneous actions is interesting but the super power feels weird having me just stand there until it comes out of cooldown.
Nice job overall !

@eclahn Thanks for the feedback!

I just notice the negative space bug like 10 minutes ago! I'm really sorry about that bug, going to fix it very soon.

The superpower was an idea made in a not clever way, unfortunately... I should have thought more about how I could make it work.

I like the style of the game, and the writing was great. The shrinking room mechanic was cool too. Nice work!

Great game man, love maze game type of games! I liked the difficulty, wasnt too hard but it felt nice to win levels! The graphics were great, loved the camera effect! Nice dialogue system it worked really well and im looking out to your main project!

Wouldve loved the boss battle to be a bit more than it was, and maybe some more alternate paths to give the player more of a playing style like celeste. It also felt strange to have time based abilities in a turn based environment, lost alot of control because of that but still a great game :D

I love the art style, but I didn't get the difference between regular ARROWS-pew-pew and SPACE-pew-pew.

Also, I got stuck here. Could you give me a hint how to proceed?

@icxon Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed it... unfortunately I made this level a bit to difficult, there are many people who couldn’t pas that part...

Suggestion is to Shoot and move at the same time when you collect the battery... you have to be really fast. Gonna nerf this level in the next update.

ArrowShot will shoot one bullet and remove one space available... superpower shoot 4 bullets, but only remove one space available!

I think you can make a complete game from this idea. I really enjoyed it. Thos fast-paced levels were even cooler. Nice job there :D

Very solid entry, I really enjoy the game and had some good laughs (the humor was spot on). Get stuck on the same level as everyone else, but I see what you did there, try to filter out who are hardcore fans and not LOL. Anyhow, this game is very promising. Would love to see you extend it!

Incredible job for your first LD! This game was a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing the game with my stream awhile back. Your game starts at around 4:42 into the vod https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297479036

I felt this game went a bit too far with scope and not far enough with polish. There are tons of mechanics slowly piling on one another - maybe would have been better to focus on the core one or two, and add the others later.

Still, the ideas here have a lot of potential. :)
