Tiny Worlds in Flasks by FiSilva

[raw]
made by FiSilva for LD 38 (COMPO)

Not really a game, but it's a cute toy. You may have fun playing. At least I had fun making it, that's what counts.

Make a small world in a flask.

Controls with the mouse. Screenshots save in data folder.

(No sound this time)

Edit: Fixed a bug with the spacebar and added WebGL version

Super cute, love the style! I would've liked a delete object button and maybe the screenshot mode could hold a little longer for the WebGL version so it's easier to take your own screenshot. Some audio feedback would've been welcome too. But overall, excellent for a single person. :)

I love this!

This, to me, is the kind of creativity that make Ludum Dare so fun.

I'm running on WebGL, can this actually save a screenshot to disk in the standalone?

Keep up the good work.

Great entry! I really wanted some to take the theme and make a terrarium builder and yours turned out really well!!
On the criticism. Sometimes it was hard to see where I place my object in 3D space. Being able to rotate the container on the vertical axis would have helped a bit. I also agree with @nuclearfriend that there should be a way to hide the UI in the WebGL version, long enough to take a screenshot.
Also, I think this would greatly benefit from sound in terms of atmosphere, making the worlds you build a lot more "lively". I also would have wished the shark would have reacted to me in some way. Maybe on what I build or when I hover over him.
All in all a really great entry, with some beautiful, colorful art!

Very nice style. Not much of a game, but you know that already. Cool little tool, I like the world in a bottle idea and it's nicely executed. Would be cool to see this developed some more!

Neat little toy! Well executed, but there's not a whole lot to it.

Hey, came here from the [waypoint feature](https://waypoint.vice.com/en_us/article/become-a-tiny-world-building-god-in-this-game?utm_source=wptwitterus) you got! Awesome toy you have here, very cathartic and enjoyable :)

Happy to give you my first feedback. It's really nice, I'm already hearing the sound of wood crackling. Wouldn't it be even nicer if I could blow on trees and move the bottle around? :)

Looks great! An idea for this that you could make into a game: you are shown a world and you have to recreate it exactly and you have a time limit to recreate it as close to the original as possible.

Very nice. Would be great with a share pictures with friends feature and more content (Btw, the content you already have is awesome for a 48 hours jam game).

Realy well done game!
I like the style and it looked great!

Maybe also rate my entry if you want!

Great game, really relaxing with great graphics and style. Found it hard to place some objects in the smaller flasks, but overall well done!

This is one of the best entries in LD38 so far, at least for me. Despite not having much interaction, and not being a 'game' like we're used to, this is really relaxing and I find enjoyment playing with this tiny worlds sandbox

Really nice work

Great amazing toy. I wish we had thought about this aesthetics for our game (which ended up with none lol).
Put some creatures into it, just for the lulz, and you have a product in your hands. Congrats!

Top graphics, mood and theme contender right here.

I love the calmness of the game! I however wish that the stuff that is planted in the game was smaller so you could plant more stuff in the toys. Also, the background color mechanic was kind of useless. I liked the use of the theme and how you used innovation to make a small world into a toy that has the small world. I also think the art is awesome. Great job!

Not really a game, true, but why not! This is an adorable satisfying experience. I loved details such as the floating butterflies, the background color change and the snapshot feature. Choosing the shape of the bottle was also nice and unexpected. Would really like to have a relaxing music in the background.

Wow this is really nice, I really like this take on the theme. Wonderful colors and artwork, the fire effect on the campfire is really charming. Sometimes placing the items can feel a little awkward, but overall I love it!

Very nice and relaxing. Would benefit immensely from some nice music and sound effects, and some ambient noises depending on what you build.

This is the kind of new stuff I expect from LDs, super cool!

2 suggestions:
Adding rotation on other axes to the mouse would have been nice, it was sometimes hard to see where I'm placing stuff.
Adding the ability to place multiple objects (by dragging?) at once instead of having to go back and click again would be appreciated too!

Great stuff otherwise.
