Why 200 carrots for one jump? That's way to expensive..
EVERYTHING
@smilewood yeah, honestly the clicker idea only got to me like 8 hours before submission. I really wanted to add better platforming but heh, not enough time!
@balduvian-dead yes
@pancakevader if i had more time to work on the clicker mechanics, definitely. As it presents now tho, the platforming is pretty short. Just.. uh... 5 minutes worth of clicking!
@batmanasb my friend when I let him play it -- "10 minutes of my life"
@madar-games it's kind of a joke, it's really a clicker game in the end. Yeah, maybe I should have added a restart or clear save.
@nehvis you can upgrade... it's just 5 minutes worth of clicking :D
I think a bit more balancing could have been good though. It 200 clicks for 1 jump makes for an awful lot of clicking for not a lot of platforming. Maybe reducing that amount or having an auto click upgrade could solve this?
I also thought having the clicker screen in the same style as the platforming (clicking carrots instead of a button for example) might have helped that screen not feel as jarring everytime it popped up.
Overall, A Bunny's Tale is still a great little game and I had fun while I played it. Awesome work!
I like how the initial sourness of having to have to grind through a clicker is part of what makes the punchline work, well played
The presentation is very well made, and completely blinds you to what is to come. I do think however its almost to clearly evil, and most ppl will most likely just turn it off as soon as the generator part starts. I feel it would have been a better idea to make ppl at-least think its not that big of a deal, by for example: Making new jumps rather cheap at first, then increasing there cost as you go along, having more carrots to collect so you think "if I only take those carrots ahead I might not need more", then hit them with the hard reality of the game later on.
The only 5/5 experience for me this LD. I feel like a new man upon completion. My muscles have grown twice in size, I've grown a beard which has proceeded to also grow a beard, I can now cut a log with my jaw line and the only fluid I intake is beer pumped directly into my veins via IV. Truly this game has transformed the boy into the man so please accept my sincerest gratitude.
