I'm afraid it will be underrated, though. \n\nI too love stargazing (and am annoyed with anyone who installs additional lighting in my area), this simple concept of quickly changing your lon\/lat on a tiny planet to observe \"Polaris\" and the idea of using star & constellations for puzzles was excellent. I was \"one step away\" but I encountered the same problem I have in real life. I just couldn't find Aviana (like any other constellation irl) so the final piece of the puzzle remains elusive, or at least that's what it seems. \n\nIt is an excellent idea, though. One I would stick with. Especially that the simple geometry and graphics, darkness, ambience and the monolithic pillars achieve a very... primal? visceral? effect. \n\nNot many people look at the sky anymore. Perhaps this will show them how beautiful an experience that is.","likes":4,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Takusan","author_uid":"1013695","time":"2017-04-25T23:11:07Z","epoch":1493161867,"modified":1493162055,"text":"Excellent idea indeed, I agree with @shodanon. Actually I don't really know what I could add not to be repetitive. I especially liked that this game makes you actually think - not about a puzzle, but about its whole premise. Dark planet, monoliths, no way of finding a path except the stars, the sheer minimalism - all works great together.\n\nIt is a fine example of a game-meets-art project, and I like it very much. In the game, you solve spatial puzzles and decipher cryptic drawings. I had a lot of ideas but only had time to implement 3 puzzles. I hope you enjoy playing! And if you don't really get what to do, I hope you had a nice time looking at the stars!\n\nIf you made progress, let me know. If you didn't know what to do, I'm interested to know what you tried.\n\n### Gameplay Video\n\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TzEtZ9gIMj8\n\n### My Stack\n\n* Game put together in Unity\n* Music made in OpenMPT with samples from DKC SNES soundfont\n* Brownian noise (ocean sounds) generated in Audacity\n* Drawings done in Photoshop\n* Pen and paper ;)\n\n### Update Log\n\n(times in PST)\n\n* Sunday 5:55pm - First submission with link to the game\n* Sunday 6:18pm - Wrote a blurb, uploaded a title screen, other misc. info\n* Sunday 6:30pm - Remove debug settings from build :P\n* Sunday 6:53pm - Final tweaks to build\n* Sunday 7:13pm - Revise blurb\n* Sunday 7:18pm - Update title card\n* Sunday 8:28pm - Added web version hosted on itch.io\n* Tuesday 11:41pm - Added gameplay video","meta":{"cover":"\/\/\/content\/234\/3\/z\/3756.png","grade-07-out":"1","author":[13362]},"path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/38\/seagazer","parents":[1,5,9,9405],"love":0,"notes":41,"notes-timestamp":"2017-05-19T21:58:53Z","grade":{"grade-01":35,"grade-02":36,"grade-03":35,"grade-04":35,"grade-05":36,"grade-06":36,"grade-07":8,"grade-08":36},"magic":{"cool":93.35341149498,"feedback":58,"given":27.125,"grade":36.714285714286,"grade-01-average":3.545,"grade-01-result":178,"grade-02-average":2.882,"grade-02-result":377,"grade-03-average":4.152,"grade-03-result":18,"grade-04-average":3.758,"grade-04-result":136,"grade-05-average":3.294,"grade-05-result":262,"grade-06-average":2.882,"grade-06-result":271,"grade-07-average":1.667,"grade-08-average":4.176,"grade-08-result":16,"smart":10.202146701223}},"text":"![sg_title_card.png](\/\/\/raw\/234\/3\/z\/e80.png)\n\n### Links\n\n* **Game**:\n * **Windows**: https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/vkk53b071o701tu\/Seagazer_Windows.zip?dl=0\n * **Web**: https:\/\/turncoda.itch.io\/seagazer\n* **Source Code (ZIP)**: https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/5xtcovt8bv92kvx\/seagazer_src.zip?dl=0\n* **Twitter**: https:\/\/twitter.com\/turncoda\n\n### Controls\n\n* W - move forward\n* A - turn left\n* D - turn right\n* Up Arrow - look up\n* Down Arrow - look down\n\n### Tips and tricks\n\nWalk into the pillars!\n\n### About\n\nI decided to make a game about looking at the stars.
