Sweatin' Spinnin' Spacin' by blu3bird

[raw]
made by blu3bird for LD 42 (JAM)

Keep running. Keep jumping. Exercise, exercise, sweat it. Runnin' outta spacin'

Control 1. Run - click and hold mouse on planet, move cursor in circles to make player run. 2. Jump - release mouse. 3. Direction - direction of jump is dependent on where the player leaps off the planet.

Objective

Running out of space. Yes it is that literal. Let me know what's outside of space.

Really beautiful pixel art, well done! I like the mood of the game and also it looks quite polished. It was a bit awkward to play it in a computer, I guess it was designed to be played in a phone, but otherwise fun game. Nice work!

Nice graphics! I agree it would be fun to play on a phone :)
(Also why the most games here are SO hard for me, I can't get past the third planet :D)
Would be nice if you can check out our game too! :)

Simple in concept, difficult to master! At least for me on desktop; I found myself really struggling to get past 6 moon jumps xD
Though, I noticed you can actually jump during the reloading screen, and if you do it at just the wrong time, it locks up the game with the guy just stuck floating forever.
Very nice looking game, though: I love the art style.

@gus-the-shark Thank you for playing our game and reviewing! Much appreciated! We're now thinking if we should change the controls to be even simpler by tap+hold to run instead of spinning :P The game wasn't done in pixel art though :D all done vector to keep it smooth!
@daria-s Thank you! and yes, @blu3bird is going to try making an android version for fun to see if it works better. Ok! we will!
@sigmath-bits T__T i find it difficult to master too! we're considering changing up the controls :D Thank you for playing and reviewing our game!

I really like the game. Not sure that literally theme understanding is the key. Space-limited mechanics could be more interesting than just a words game.

@skigfx Thanks! Yea, we had an idea dealing with an old lady's memory "space", another about sorting out your ware for your small shop and other on managing the space in your stomach for healthy digestion.. But we decided on this in the end. Reason being that this is my 1st time working on Defold engine[ @notbadgun YAS DEFOLD!] and @yunix 1st few experiences with Spine. We played it really safe, so that we can finish something

@blu3bird A nicely done game and i loved the visuals but if the controls are a little bit simple it would have been great. Although nice game. It would be really nice if u port this game to android and Feel free to play and rate our game too.

A bit too simple to hold my attention for more than a few minutes, but for the few minutes I played it, I had a lot of fun! Jumping mechanic feels good, and art style was really pretty.

I mean, this is more running IN space than running OUT of space, but I'll allow it! :D

Nice basic concept, I'd like to see a bit more variance in mechanics as you advance to other planets. Good work!

Hello from Defold community :) Nice graphics, original game mechanics, but you should include instructions in the game itself, otherwise it's impossible to understand what to do.
