made by wrexialmt for LD 43 (COMPO)

Story

Welcome to hell on earth, as four warring races attempt to kill each other for domination of the world. As the benevolent god that you are, you don't want this to happen. Although you are too lazy to fix their disputes.

Controls

  • Snap half a specific race to create a Holy being

How to play

  • Reds kills Blue
  • Blues kills Green
  • Greens kills Yellow
  • Yellows kills Red

  • Evil [Purple] spawns when you have overpopulation and kills all of the colored races above.

  • Holy [White] spawns when you snap a race in half and kills Evil.

I wasn't planning on doing anything for this jam, but I've managed to slap something quick in a few hours and called it a game!

Decent. A bit distracting looking at the kill menu on the side + back at the action. Would prefer to kill by an area-of-effect to kill particular units. Good job on the concept.

Interesting idea. I didn't realize at first that your reported score would just be the final number of guys alive - if I were optimizing for that, I wouldn't have snapped so many folks in half. Fun concept, fits the theme, easy to understand, and fun to watch. Nice work.

Definitly interesting, would have to play to get a good grasp of how to keep a race alive, but overall nicely done!

Hi! I like the game! Even if it's quite simple - the core concept is nice. I'd love to see some more features in this. Sometimes I felt like I had very little control over what was going on, and maybe other powers, like pushing some guys around, or being able to freeze some creatures for a short while, would be really awesome! I agree with the other comment that looking back and forth between GUI and gameplay was difficult at times, but it wasn't too bad.

I like the concept but as a sim player it was a bit frustrating to not be able to fully enjoy the simulation unfolding below, as I had to keep focus on the population numbers and the kill rules. Nevertheless it was a nice experience :)

I guess I'm dumb 'cause I always lose in seconds and I don't really get how to get better... But I'm amazed by the fact you've done this in a few hours ! I'll try your other games :)

Quick, fun, clever.

One of my favorite games this jam.
You have to have an eye on all what's happening on the screen and think fast.

However it misses a little something to make me try again and again. Perhaps a little more control somehow?
A score based on the time you last seems more interesting.

I really enjoyed to play. Good work

interesting concept. Hard to have all the rules in head, though..

Really fun game, its kinda hard to keep track of who hunting who without any special indicators, but still its interesting simply to watch on the screen, without even halving anyone, and placing bets on who will win :)

Managing each species to have enough members so that a peaceful together or rather a 'eat and be eaten' is possible: really neat idea!
