GameDev Sacrifices by GerodruS

About
So many things to do, so little time...
What are you willing to sacrifice to make a game?
And what will your sacrifices bring you?

Goal
Defeat four stages of game development disguised as monsters: 1. Education 2. Pre-production 3. Active development 4. Marketing and release
Try your best to stay on target and make a good game, while not forgetting to take care about your physical and mental health. Because remember: it's not game development that harms you but you yourself.

Controls:
- Mouse/touch
- Buttons on the screen.
- Click on the actions on the bottom of the screen to sacrifice them and
spend freed time on making a game
- Be careful choosing what you are willing to sacrifice,
as with some decisions you wont be able to keep working on your game

Used Engine and tools
Used Software
- VS Code
- Adobe animator 2017
- Flash cs3
- Adobe Photoshop
- Pro Tools 12
- Cubase AI Elemets 9
- Soundly 2.0
- TexturePacker
- Streamlabs OBS
Notes
- Playtime ~5min
- Only two enemies are implemented (out of 4 planned)
- Game might bug out if you minimize the tab (due to poorly coded animation sequences, sorry :3)
- We are not experienced in JS and have used PixiJS for the first time and this jam was a nice opportunity to try it out. Even though it is not recommended to use unknown tools on the jam, I (Xorboo) think that on the contrary - this is the best way to learn something new, even though the game won't be as good as it could be
- GitHub repo needs some cleanup and a readme first
Post LudumDare update
Post-LD version (first url) contains some minor bugfixes and a bunch of UI improvements, which should help the player to understand the rules of the game and impact of his decisions on sacrifices.

Overall good entry. I have to check out this Pixi.js thing!
About pixi - this was our first experience with it, so i can't say too much, but still. Overall it is okay, but it heavily relies on using external libraries. For example there are no tweening or timer functionality in the engine, and i've found at least 4 tweening libraries. Its better to know what to use before the jam in this case :) I would still prefer Defold engine for lightweight html games like this one
Well, everything linked to hard work, depression and sleep deprivation seemed to be the good ones, but it could be a lot of other jobs than game dev as well, so I'd say it may lacked a bit of consistency (yeah I'm just trying to find some bad things but I enjoyed playing it).
The art style and animation were very good ones, and the theme was pretty much the core of this funny game so good job overall !
I didn't quite understand if there's a tactical way to play the game, but enjoyed it nonetheless!
Your music and sounds are very nice and I really enjoyed the animations, they were well chosen.
The fonts you used are a bit hard to read, sadly.
There is no "points" to maximaze, more like a story selection.
Lots of truth in here.
