Overall, amazing work!
(btw I found him in the first two levels :)
Good Game. I'm voting for it.
Amazing art and music. Controls were tight and very responsive and I loved the characters running animation. I also thought the 2 frame jumping animation was nice touch. Something I've been wanted to put in my games but some how seem to fail to do it correctly. I didn't make it to the last level as others have but I really enjoyed playing what I did. And yes the level design was top notch!
So much goodness packed in for a game made in 48 hours.
+ Consistent art
+ Power-ups, Metrodvania stuff
+ Good use of screen transitions intead of unnecesary large single screen
+ WebGL export
Solid work. My suggestion? Add a delayed tolerance of 5~10 frames after leaving the floor (using alarms) to still jump, because the jump is too unforgiving by simple checking floor collision. This is the kind of detail that helps speedrunners, for instance.
*P.S.: I am having exporting issues with Game Maker too, are you using built-in Physics?*
That said I think the game could be improved by adding WASD support, 'cause sometimes the arrow keys can get annoying to use.
Overall it's great though keep it up.
great work!
The graphics are also nice!
You could maybe explain a little better what to do cause at the beginning it seemed quite confusing what to do, But overall a really nice game!
It felt pretty hard at times, but not unfair and not like it was the games fault when you are losing. Some parts are a little hard to look at, as in due to a lot of movement going on (mostly with colors that draw in the eyes more than the colors of the players character) it was difficult to focus on your character.
The physics work really well, I didn't encounter any situation where I felt like I didn't have full control over the player characters movements.
