Nice game :)\nThe music was great, the graphics were all right (even though I couldn't see most of the game beacuse of the LACK OF LIGHT). This gameplay made me exercize my memory, and god know ho bad my memory is. Congrats!","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"zee","author_uid":"1003098","time":"2017-07-31T21:17:41Z","epoch":1501535861,"modified":1501535861,"text":"Nice job! The game is fairly polished, and has a good presentation. The game-play kinda feels like a mix between a memory matching game and an old school dungeon crawler.\n\nMy main complaint is that some of the levels are a bit too \"trial and error\" like, and felt more like guesswork then actual puzzles.\n\nOther then that, It kept me interested until the end. Good work!","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"franfox","author_uid":"1035601","time":"2017-08-01T11:01:24Z","epoch":1501585284,"modified":1501585284,"text":"Good work! It was definitely supposed to test memory, and I'm glad it wasn't too aggravating!\n\n@zee: Yeah, I was definitely worried about that during level design, and with some of them it did seem like that was the case. I really was just running short on time, but I feel most of the levels were pretty well-balanced.\n\n@franfox: I was thinking about adding that, but with all the other stuff I was doing, I was running short on time. I did want to give them a sense of what they're stepping on though, since at first they were just green and orange squares.","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Mathstr0fficial","author_uid":"1012836","time":"2017-08-01T14:57:51Z","epoch":1501599471,"modified":1501599535,"text":"Welp, just made a new post accidentally. In this case, I found it to be a huge exercise in trial and error. As the player is given such a small amount of knowledge, the puzzle is reduced to a matter of trying paths until one works. To say that this game is pure trial and error is to do it a disservice, however. There is a comprehensible design language and the mechanics are designed to allow a player to come back from poor decisions. After a certain point, I began to get a feel for how to avoid paths to nowhere. The relaxing soundtrack went a long way toward preventing the experience from being frustrating.","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Mathstr0fficial","author_uid":"1012836","time":"2017-08-02T15:21:15Z","epoch":1501687275,"modified":1501687275,"text":"@piscythe: Thanks! It definitely was meant to be somewhat memory-based, hence the trial-and-error. I did try to make it somewhat comprehensible, and I'm glad it worked! As for the music, I'm really happy with how it turned out in such a tight time frame. I just went in and made it it Submission Hour, so I feel it could've been better, but for now, it's pretty good. Anyway, new music and more levels will be added post-LD, so keep checking the website!","likes":2,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld39\/42140-7f05b1d96f5a2dd014f10c661d110fff.png"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/lightonlight-SOURCE-Construct2.zip","text":"Source code"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/","text":"HTML5 (web)"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/win64.zip","text":"Windows"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/win32.zip","text":"Windows"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/osx64.zip","text":"macOS"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/linux64.zip","text":"Linux"},{"url":"http:\/\/benjaminfalkenberg.com\/lightonlight\/linux32.zip","text":"Linux"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"50092","g_author":"1012836","g_event":"LD39","g_eventkey":"74","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"248442","g_title":"Light On Light ","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"7","g_site2_node_id":"42140","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"42140","n_urlkey":"248442","n_parent":"32802","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/39\/light-on-light","n_slug":"light-on-light","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"compo","n_author":"12836","n_created":"1501330978","n_modified":"1502122869","n_version":"138228","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":42140,"parent":32802,"superparent":9,"author":12836,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"compo","published":"2017-07-31T03:01:38Z","created":"2017-07-29T12:22:58Z","modified":"2017-08-07T16:21:09Z","version":138228,"slug":"light-on-light","name":"Light On Light ","body":"Light on Light is a simple puzzle-esque game where your flashlight is running low on power, and you have to get to the next level to keep on going.
