Defend your tiny planetoid from a barrage of meteors! Use WASD or the arrow keys to move and jump. Aim and shoot with the mouse. Get upgrades to increase your firepower. Getting two of the same upgrade upgrades your weapon. Once your shield is down, your planetoid can only take three hits from a meteor, but in time your shields will recover. If your planet gets hit by a meteor your weapon will also be damaged!

I got the second highest score with 5:05. :P
The music and art were nice, but the game was pretty much the same as a bunch of other games.

The game sounds and looks great and has a good game feel. Each gun felt unique and was fun to use and the pickups really helped to make the game more interesting. I think that adding some more asteroid variation or events which made the game a little harder overall or shook things up would really help this game. Overall some great work and the music was very nice.

This was a fun game with lots of interesting powerups, and good graphics. Sometimes I felt some of the asteroids were unreachable (other side of the planet, moving fast, plus more limited visual range along the X/Y axis than in the diagonals). Overall, though, excellent work.

Oh wow, our team decided to do a game about earth being bombarded by meteors too. Yours is about defending it though instead of escaping it. The weapons felt great, and it seemed like early on the meteors were mostly coming from above or near my character, as it went on they seemed to come from anywhere. I think maybe an indicator would be helpful so you don't discover one is coming in from the other side with no warning and no chance to make it around. The bullets being tied to the camera was a little weird, but it actually turned out useful when trying to hit far away meteors arced around the planet as in the above case.

Really nice pixel graphics in this game (first 5 star game I come across). The many power-ups keep it fresh. Nice music. Excellent game.

My main problem with the game is how little time the player is given to react, especially for asteroids which spawn on the opposite side of the planet. Otherwise, I liked the frantic tone set forth by the sound effects. The weapons all felt good, and I liked the system to switch or upgrade, though once I settled on the type I like, there wasn't really anything which made me want to switch. Very good entry!

Quite a fun little game. I agree with previous comments – it doesn't really add anything new to the table. However, you did a good job with what you were pursuing. I think it could have been taken much farther, mainly in the area of weapon upgrades (something like 5 different levels instead of 2 would have been great) and balance (oftentimes planets would be unblockable or would appear before I had any chance to shoot), and give me a choice of picking up upgrades (since they would often wipe out a better, "advanced" version of an upgrade).

I enjoyed playing this, a simple arcade shooter. I like the art and weapon upgrades.

Overall, it was a little too difficult for me though. Keep it up!

First of all, congratz on your first LD. A very solid game considering this is your 1st LD.

The graphics and music complimented the game well and drew me into the game while the powerups/guns really added the spice.

The only problem is that the meteors can be slightly too difficult to be reached/responded to when its on the other side of the planet.

Otherwise, solid game.

The idea is good, the controls are good too. I don't personally like dubstep, but it's not something that throws me away from this game. Sound effects were nice. But there is one major problem when it comes to the clarity of the graphics. You simply can't see meteors behind the clouds. This is awful when coupled of the extremely fast speed of the smallest meteors.

Loving the feel of the game, the multiple guns feel all different, but powerful! (Reminds me to Super Crate Box)

A problem I could find was that some meteors were barely visible, and due to the round nature of the game, even if you saw them, they were impossible to hit.

Cool game! It was the same concept as a lot of the others this LD, but it you added an air of freshness to it with the shield, and the multiple weapons was something I haven't seen yet this LD.
The audio was a good choice, even though it wasn't original, and I liked the graphics.
Good job!

I Played this in Stream Today at Request of the Developer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekGMbpHGKUE

I had a lot of fun, though I wish the weapons could be ignored as I kept losing the weapons I wanted to have. Really great job programming a wide variation in weapons, it really helped break up the gameplay!

Fun little game! I liked the music and SFX a lot. The graphics were a really fun style. I thought that rotating the whole frame of reference as a player went around the world felt sort of dizzying. I also found it frustrating that I had so little time to react to meteors not on my side of the planet. I think a camera centered on the center of the planet, with a square viewport, would feel much better. All together fun game though, good job!

EDIT: I just played a bit more and got the high score. Delete the bullets after they get out of range of the planet. I don't believe you do. That led to an immense slowdown after spamming the double upgraded machine gun, allowing me to play much slower/easier.

Fun game, I've managed to get 4:23 time. I agree with PeachTreeOath, that some indicator about incoming asteroids would be very helpful, another option can be a minimap, or increasing the screen size.

A nice polished arcade game. The music and art was really good and it was fun to play. Maybe diffrent enemy types or additional powerups would have been nice but it is still really good. As other have mentioned it felt a bit cheap when a fast meteor just suddenly appeared on the side of the screen and you could not react to it, maybe an indicator would have been nice.

Good work regardless, keep it up!

Very good concept. The sprites and effects are well done. I enjoyed the game play, and music. You did a great job on the mechanics, The different weapons are a nice touch. Everything is this game fits together, you have a good cohesive game. It is immediately clear what is going on.

It was hard to see the meteors sometimes and I wouldn't be able to get to them if they falling on my opposite side. It would of been cool to switch between weapons instead of having just one, either that make a way to not take upgrades.

Solid game here. It was fun to play for a while and has nice graphics. Very easy to get into. The controls and visual presentation were nice and smooth and allowed a pleasant game experience. Even if quite some people had a similar idea the theme was nicely included.

I like the way you supplied different weapons to play with, but I feel like there could be even more variance gameplay wise. The difficulty could be more balanced as the game progresses. Maybe the healthbar or shield could slowly replenish as a reward for not getting hit for a while, or health as another pick up?

A great and sound entry alltogether that can be build upon. Good luck, I hope you get enough ratings and that we see you next jam, maybe you could check out our game too :-)

The art and sound are really nice. But I think you need more of a warning of what is coming. I don't know if my game is running faster, but I am unable to react to very many of meteors. Meteors on the other side of the planet just seems impossible to reach in time. The scoreboard is really a nice addition. The gameplay seems nice and hectic, but needs some tweaking.

Really fun to play! I liked the rhythm of picking up a gun upgrade and just firing away. The sound was solid, nothing special or new but it gets the job done. Graphics are good for the genre, easy to identify meteors and other objects without any trouble, but once again not really anything special. Still a really nice entry with fun gameplay.

Good take on the theme. I liked the gameplay a lot - especially the shotgun. Being able to push asteroids away instead of always destroying them felt satisfying for some reason. I think the game would benefit from having a wider view of the space around the planet - I would often see an asteroid pop up at the bottom of the screen and would have no chance to do anything about it. That may have been intentional, but it felt a bit unfair.

Good work on the presentation - the guns felt satisfying to use. There was a good amount of depth with having to deal with the shield and deal with the strengths and weaknesses of each gun.

I liked the core gameplay. I think something that would help a lot is a view that's a bit more zoomed out. Sometimes it's really tough or impossible to get to where you need to be.
